Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I just joined yesterday and I finally have a moment to sit down and say hello. My name is and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 7 years ago at the age of 19. It came on while I was away at college. Let me tell you, college is not condusive to learning to live with illness. I was lucky that I was diagnosed within 2 months but it took me almost 4 years to really get to a good place. I was able to stay in school fulltime even though my grades suffered at first. I was able to use my psychology classes to really delve into research on the illness and also use my creative writing classes to express myself (those are my degrees). My now finace has been with me thru it all and although he doesn't always get it he does his best to help me out. I am able to work fulltime which is not always the case with this illness. I have to take full advantage of sick days and can't afford to waste them if I'm only having a minor flare up which can be hard. One of the biggest things I am grateful for is that God has given me the attitude that I was glad to have a name for what I was feeling and said, " okay now what... " as in what can I do to feel better. I try not to dwell on it and I am very greatful my symptoms have been mild. I do have my days of aw d@mn! So now that I've rambled on and said hi and probably told you more than you wanted to know I hope to be able to come on here if not daily at least a couple of times a week. Life is busy with work and planning my wedding in October but that just means when I flare I'm going to need more support than usual! Thank you for being in this group!
