Guest guest
It's simple. The are IDIOTS. I will tell you right now that pain medications do help fibromyalgia. It sounds to me like this doctor just believes it is " all in your head " . What an A$$. Just don't go near him. I don't know much about your area, but you need to be looking hard for a descent doctor. Oh... exercise????? For some, but not others. This crap can get you in so much pain there is no way to exercise. They have lost their ever loving minds. Gosh those kind of " doctors " piss me off to no end. That is enough right there to put you in a fibro flare. There is just as much evidence out there to support the use of narcotic pain meds for fibro as there is info that says not to use them. Well, I guess the world will remain full of judgemental idiots until research finds some proof that we are not lunatics. Sorry, I got mad, hugs, Debra V. I am told by primary care doc here that there is no point in me being referred to a fibro specialist if i am going to ask for pain meds. That the current standard of treatment is to not give pain medication but to recommend daily exercise, not limited to walking or swimming but something as demanding as yoga (I studied yoga for many years, it is not as 'easy' as it looks.) I said that if I could have something to take the edge off the painmaybe then I could get out of bed and try Yoga. They are willing to prescribe psych meds (Trazadone for sleep, some others also but I already take some psych meds for the stuff that realy is in my head . They also want me to see a " Pain Psychologist " Am I being unreasonable in not wanting ANOTHER head doctor in my life? I woke up today feeling likeI've been beaten all over with a stick.
