Guest guest
Debra - that's exactly it. At first I just thought, oh, another fibro pain. But this has gotten worse and worse. So I know I did something to it. A ligament or tendon or something - finally made an appointment to see the doc this coming Friday. I had told my husband I wasn't going to go see someone about until I couldn't stand it anymore. Well, it's gotten to that point. So we'll see what they say. And you're right about the medical bills. I'm paying off 7 now as I said before. So I guess I'll just have to add another one to it. I'm seeing this as necessary, which I was trying to avoid. As my hubby said, we will always have medical bills especially the way the insurance system works - just as you said. It sucks. You pay high premiums and still have to pay bills that they don't cover because you haven't met your deductible yet. I guess the way I justify that is if something horrific were to happen and landed one of us in the hospital with major medical bills, then it would be worth it, I guess. Not very pretty, but that's the truth. Teri (central Wisconsin) Re: more on the plate Teri, I am so sorry to hear of the added misery. It sounds like you probably did injure that knee in some way. Of course, with fibro, alot of us just put things off because we either think it is fibro related and will let up, or that the doctors won't believe us, OR what you are saying about more and more medical bills. It must be horrid pain. It almost sounds like some kind of nerve compression the way you describe the pain. Honey, as for medical bills, I have a big share of those I can't pay either. I believe most people do with a chronic illness. I don't know what they can do except turn it to collections... of course if you have good credit I know that is something you don't want. But your health has to come first. I cannot tell you how many ER visits I have had or my kids have had that I simply have no money to pay for. It is the sad state of affairs in this country with healthcare. Especially when you have NO insurance or you have a high deductible as you do. I just wish that a country as big and rich as America would figure out how to help their own sometimes. We help everyone else. But Americans that work and pay taxes cannot even afford to get healthcare. Love and hugs, Debra V.
Guest guest
Teri, I'm one of those folks who met her deductible (both of them) in January. My January hospital bill (no doc or radiology) was almost $38k (more than my LTD is per year). My March hospital bill was $28k (same deal, no docs or radiology). Plus I have had the pleasure (sarcasm here) of going to 2 vascular docs, 1 rheumatologist (who was fired....hahahaha....see prev post) and 1 endocrinologist, as well as my chiro, my PCP multiple times...... So I am excited that my 1st hospital bill, before going to my DH's insurance, is less than $1500 balance. I think they will end up covering all of it. I hate that you are still working on medical bills from before, but this too shall pass. You have to find out what is going on with your knee! Darlene > > Debra - that's exactly it.
