Guest guest
I made what I thought was friends with this nurse at work. Of course, within the first few days I met her she told me that she " use to have a friend with fibro and got tired of being around her because she just wanted people to feel sorry for her and was taking oxycontin and could not even stay awake " . Ok... first of all it pissed me off. Then I just decided that I would just go on and try to be friends with her because I am never going to ask her for anything for my fibro anyway. Second of all, I got to thinking that people with fibro in its worst stages are sleep deprived and maybe the oxycontin was not making the woman fall asleep... maybe it was sleep deprivation. Now this person always stays completely silent when anyone at work asks me about fibromyalgia or asks how I am feeling. SILENCE speaks volumes. The other day I sent my boss the poem I wrote titled " The Rain is Moving In " and my boss came to the nurses station and hugged me and told me it was beautiful and almost made her cry. Now... the " friend " was standing there and changed the subject quickly to something she HAD to ask about work. I am realizing that this person is not the friend I thought she was. If you have a " friend " you care about what is going on with them. And a " friend " would believe you. Just some frustrations.... love to the group, Debra V. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
