Hi everyone. brought home a " bug " from preschool...cough and a high

fever. It took him out for two days. Unfortunately Meg caught it. Within 24

hours it was Pneumonia. We noted her cough Wednesday night. Thursday she

woke with a 103 degree temp! I called the triage line, and we were seen

Friday morning. She was sating low, so she was given a steroid shot to open

up her airway. We then were sent for a chest X-ray and blood work. Both

confirmed pneumonia, but her blood count was in the high, normal range

(rather than the high range) letting us treat her from home. She developed

pneumonia while on amoxicillin, so it's a weird strand that doesn't respond

to penicillin based antibiotics. She is still on the amoxicillin, but they

also put her on a macro antibiotic in hopes of killing the pneumonia. Her

pediatrician thinks her body was just so run down, she caught the virus, and

since she hurts when she coughs (she had her tonsillectomy a week ago), she

was not having a productive cough. This allowed for the " junk " to settle to

her lungs. We are seeing improvements, as she is now willing to smile and

play. Hopefully our next update will be a happier one!

, mommy to Meagan (CHaRgE) and 2 1/2 year old twins, and big

brother 4 1/2 years, married to the best daddy in the world for 10

years!

The mention of my child's name might make me cry. Not mentioning my child's name

will break my heart. Unknown
