Guest guest
Kennedy still gets food coming out of her nose if she isn't making a good swallow when she eats pudding/yogurt/etc. It's geting more and more rare now that she's older, but for her it's just an uncoordinated swallow and the nasopharyngeal reflux is just how it shows up. As far as I know, it can cause aspiration if it isn't swallowed properly so you might want to check that out with her pediatrician to see if she should still have the oral food for now. Guest guest
Rita, Did Caitlyn have her video swallow yet? I remember you were asking for it. That should be done to rule out aspiration if you are having concerns. I would do what suggests and talk to the doctor. On shoes....what about those First Steps range from es...I think they call them crawlers/creepers or something - are these too soft for her? I think they have a base but aren't as solid as the toddlers range. is (Mum to ) > > can anyone tell how many kids when you give them tastes the stuff comes > out of therte nose is it true that this is a sign aspiration cos if it > comes up instead of down there is a high chance of it going there lungs > what can be done for this if anything anyone with any advice. also > weve been trying to get caitlyn some shoes she has physio boots but is > there anywhere you can get some sort of suportive sandles even with > only the toes out we have tried every where but we can only get baby > sheos cos caitlyn s feet are so tiny only soft shoes are available > witch are not supportive enough any idears caitlyn only has a size 0 > shoe witch is the smallerst we can get here in england dont know what > the size would be any other country thanks rita gran to 17month old > cailtyn charge baby. > > >
Guest guest
Cameron (now 5 years old) was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate so he occasionally has nasal reflux. I didn't know it could be related to anything CHARGE. He is not tube fed (had it removed at age 3) but when he's congested he is more apt to have food come out of his nose. The first time chocolate emerged it was a bit shocking...looks a bit like dark blood. He tells me it hurts. At this point I don't know what we can do about it but fortunately it happens rarely. Mom to Cameron, 5, CHARGE and who is finally 7 as of May 12.

Guest guest
Amélie's first feed at birth came down her nostril as soon as she took the milk in, I remeber it well and thought thats never happened to our other three. Since then she has failed two video fluroscopy, and with pnuemonias and o2 dependent we are not going to feed orally until she is older and safer, although we are giving food tasters on her lips to keep the concept and enjoyment there, in the hope she is used to tastes for the future. love Les x > > i say it a sign but doestn mean it is > > On 15/05/07, Casey Fisher aarididdle@... > > wrote: > > > > actually grossed out a nurse with creamed spinach... oh and don't > > forget spaghetti.. always loved pulling that out of his nose.. good > thing > > he's not looking over my shoulder now, I'd be in BIG trouble..LOL > > > > Casey > > > > __________________________________________________________Boardwalk for > > $500?
