Guest guest
Yuka, I can just picture sitting in the bath tub with a number 6 and 9 on each thumb. So cute! I really push the comfort items. I try for blankies and stuffed animals. Luke goes for funny little things like finger puppets or little plastic trees. They sure have a mind of their own don't they? > > Dear - > > You've caught my eye again (and I am terribly behind on my emails!) was very the same at that age. He had these foam numbers which were bath toys and he had the " 6 " and the " 9 " always on his thumbs. They were very important items, and much discussion about knowing where they were at all times for a while. As he became older it wasn't the holes, but items that fit into his hand well. For a long time he had two special plastic giraffes that he held in his hands everywhere he went. I think in a way it was sensorily stabilizing for him, and allowed him something familiar to go through new experiences. > > Best, > > Yuka > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: > > > > See the little finger puppet on his thumb? Guest guest
, My son is 10 and hates to be outside, he always has. He will go outside to swim because he is good at it and likes it. If he is at an amusement park he is fine outside, but won't just go outside to play. He prefers games, computer and movies. We just got him a mini battery operated ATV and he likes that but like I said, rides it for a few minutes then he is done. He is very bothered by the bright sunlight and prefers it sunny because he hates rain, but does better out when it isn't sunny outside. He hates to be kissed but loves to give kisses and hugs and he loves to be hugged. It's preferences and from my experience I have to honor his wishes when they are reasonable. He is very OCD and needs sequences and has his rituals and let me tell you, don't mess with it or he has to do it all over. He recently expressed that " Daddy drives him crazy with all the foods " . What he meant was that sometimes at dinner we have too many food choices and it confuses him. My husband gives the kids dinner 3 nights a week while I am at school and sometimes they all have different things and can't adjust to that, but was able to express it. He is learning how to be a little more flexible, but still doesn't like it. Guest guest
Dear and Yuka, You both jogged something in my memory about .. For allot of years when he was little would play dinosaurs with his fingers. When he had nothing with him in the car he would do this with his hands. If you watched you could see the shapes of them and using both hands he would make them interact. Even now he still likes rubber snakes and dinos to set around his room. mom to 31 > > Dear - > > You've caught my eye again (and I am terribly behind on my emails!) was very the same at that age.
