Guest guest
Chantelle, Patty can hardly hear on phones anymore. She has something called a side kick. It's also a tty device, an organizational tool, a phone, and has access to IM and the internet. She's changed the screen somehow but she also has central vision, sort of, so she see's it ok. She also got -for free by verizon- a Sorenson VRS (Video Relay System) which is sort of like a relay call that you set up to see the person on the tv. Patty signs so she's able to call my mom and talk to her on Patty's cell but she can't hear so the relay person, on the tv screen, signs to Patty what is being said. She can also talk directly to someone who also is deaf, without a relay person. It's cool and reduces tons of stress for her. Patty hasn't been able to call in her meds, get numbers from 411, make appointments, etc. Now she can do it all! Independent of anyone, it's all about independence! Check it out. Guest guest
i'm curious do you hear the buzz from the cell phone? i wonder if any cell phone are getting better without having buzz on T phone from hearing aid while listen to cell phone. I used to have cell phone like seven years ago before i have implant on, the old version of cell phone cause lot of buzz til i get other one and it work fine with T phone. what kind of hearing aids you going to get? is it deginal? Sad news was my hearing from left ear were going down and you are lucky, your hearing are still working. Michele s. Not hearing Call phone... what options do I have? Hello Im finding it harder now to use my cell phone. I just cant hear on it at all if im out. if im at home I have to turn off my fan and air conditioner. Now that the confusion with ODSP is cleared up im going to make a new appointment with my Audiologist about getting new hearing aids but what cell phones or products similar to cell phones are out there that are good for people with hearing imparement. Actualy I find the screen too small to read but mostly the cell phone is so I would have something to use to be safe and call if I ever needed help. Its too hard to have a conversation over my cell phone cause its too quiet on the cell even with speaker phone wich if I switch to speaker phone my phone sounds like a crackly microphone. I am interested in knowing what options there is for people with hearing loss. I use my right ear to talk as I can hear higher pitch but not the lower frequencies. my left ear has less hearing but the low frequencies are better then the high frequencies. I can hear people speaking better if they are on my right side. Guest guest
Mine have been fine until April. I don't know why, but they would buzz a lot! Ugh, so annoying! And they would do the bababababababa thing, you know? My hearing aids do that not just with my cell, but with other cells, the TV, and the computer. Last Wedendsay I changed the setting to a different one then back. Now all of that stopped. Finally. I didn't want to have to step 10 feet away from my friend every time she is on her cell. And I want to hear my program. Now it is gone, whew. Oh well. They are better. My left hearing aid has been whistiling all day on Wed and I am going to see an audiologist on Wed and see what is up with my hearing aid. I remember my FM system didn't work well, and it started to do that after one year of use 8th grade: Fine. Just got it. Freshman year: Squealed, babababaed, staticed Sophomore year: Buzz, bababababa, static Junior year: static This year (Senior year): Today it started to squeal a bit during lunch. It sounded so much like a girl shrieking! Soo freaky man. I was talking to my friend at that time. Scary. Squeled a few more times after that during class. Guest guest
Morning mi amigos! Yeah, I had that similiar problem too with my hearing aids. 1 of the phone here, usually give me a hard time hearing well, even worst without my hearing aids. The other one is okay, better volume but no caller ID on it, sigh! Sometime my hearing does start ringing out, then I have to lower it so it can stop the ringing. I'm planning on getting a special kind of telephone that's for deaf/hoh users. The one with larger numbers, with volume adjusment, and hopefully a caller ID on it too! I'll let you know when I get it, alright? Thanks, have a nice day! Ol' Chipper > Persico keith@...> wrote: Mine have been fine until April. I don't know why, but they would buzz a lot!
