Guest guest
, Michele, Casey & Ellen, It's really great to hear from you all, I've missed this connection with the people who " get it " . My computer was just reformated so if I can keep the boys away from it I should be okay. Things are pretty typical around here, life is always complicated but I can't complain, it could be worse. Mac is really growing up, she has purple hair right now (it's just a mousse), and wanting to fit in with the crowd at school. I'm trying to decide which one of us to sedate on the plane to California, it's a 9 hour flight! I'm hoping to hang around for a few days after the conference, maybe do Disney, Sea World etc. I'm waiting to tell Mac about it, otherwise her OCD will kick in and she'll drive me nuts. Hope everyone is well. Jeanie Colp mom to MacKenzie 8 CHARGE, Tyler 15 & Zachary13 Ellen, of course I remember you. I think of you all the time. It sounds like things are going well. Guest guest
Jeanie- I'm giggling at the thought of purple mousse. Aubrie hates any products like that - hair stuff, fingernail polish, lotions. She'd freak out at the thought of colored mousse! Also giggling at the thought of a 9-hr flight with your OCD-girl. Oh yeah - there'll be stories to tell after that! Guest guest
Michele, MacKenzie aspires to be a real life princess. She tries very hard to be girly. She'll be decked out in her prom dresses, jewels, hair, the whole nine yards and then break into her ninja moves or goes out to play soccer . I guess the tomboy in her battles with her inner princess. As far as the flight, I'm not even gonna go there yet. I hope they have a bar. Guest guest
Jeanie, Welcome back! You know I feel for you on a 9 hour flight. We have been traveling this year with Jess back and forth to Perkins and it is 4+ hours in the air. It hasn't been horrible. I am just not willing to take a longer flight with her so that means we will not be making it to the conference this year. Have a fun trip and I can't wait to hear how it goes. Guest guest
Flo, Grandma...Yes! Young...No! I have been enjoying her as much as I can. She is very special to all of us. She actually has been busy visiting ALL of her grandparents the last few weeks. She was born to 4 grandparents, 9 great grandparents & 4 great great grandmothers. She is the first for all of us except one great great grandma already had 2 great great grandchildren. So, with all of that love, you can tell she might be a little spoiled. As for auntie Jess, she has not had a chance to see her. I have sent pictures to her at school (Perkins) so that they can get her used to the idea of Alana being here to stay. Jess has never cared for babies or anything smaller than her for that matter. We will know her true reaction when she is home for a week before summer school. She will be sharing her mommy with Alana for the first time that week. I get to baby-sit once Lacy returns to work which happens to be the same week Jess comes home. Wish us luck on that one! I hope I can multi task again. Sorry to hear you aren't going to make it to the conference this year. We'll have to have our own party here that weekend. I can't wait to hear the site for 2009 as I do want to try to get to that one. Sheryl Mom to Jess 20, Mitch 21 and proud Grandma to Alana Marie 3 weeks old today!! P.S. I had just turned 40 when she was born
Guest guest
Sheryl, You will be very missed at the conference. I understand your reason not to go though. This will be my first long flight with her, we may be the ones staying home next time. If I remember correctly, MacKenzie and Jess have alot in common, especially behavoirally, so wish me luck. Wow, a grandmother, that doesn't seem possible. Boy, time sure flies. Congrats. Jeanie
Guest guest
Jeanie, MacKenzie and Jess so seem to be a lot alike. We try to " sedate " Jess for travel. Lately it has been more of the try than sedate. I don't know if I can help with suggestions for travel, don't hesitate to contact me off list at sdoolittle@... and maybe I can help. If we were to go to the conference we would have been flying from Iowa to Boston to get Jess from school. From there cross country to California and then back home to Iowa. It was going to be too much for me let alone Jess. I would love to hear how MacKenzie is doing these days. I really enjoyed comparing notes in Miami.
