Hi ,

My son had the fundo done at the same time they placed the g-tube....at one

month old...He was tube fed until he was 5. At 3.5 I began introducing solid

food by mouth..

He ate a soft diet due to swallowing issues...He needed to be able to consume

enough calories to get the tube removes...It was a process... would try all

different types of food...Oatmeal,scrambled eggs and pastas...Then moved to

veggies and then meat....cut small so he could manage...

His cardiologist wanted 1800-2200 calories per day to maintain and gain

weight...however did not have a method in which to do...Finally this April I

connected with a wonderful nutritionist who has a clear plan for this to be

accomplished.

eats 5 meals a day....protein,fruit and vegetable...2 % milk 24 ounces

per day, minimal processed sugar... is doing well...He is so good about

trying new things...however he is now the " sugar police " ...He reads everything

and if it had more that 3 grams of sugar he throws it out.

Finding this nutritionist has been so helpful. She is part of the endocrine

team so her services are covered through them. She has a clear plan on how to

achieve success.

She was wonderful with ...so respectful...She spoke to him about the meal

plan...

eats everything that she has suggested.

She understood the small stomach capacity and had solutions.

eats everything...

Hope this is helpful...
