Guest guest
I just got back some blood tests from last week. I am hypoT, hashi's, female, perimenopausal, adrenal fatigue. What do you make of the high ACTH level? Does this give clues as to what is causing my low cortisol levels? Are there further tests you would suggest to zero in on the cause? Is my DHEA level too low, or is it ok? Does my sodium/potassium point to aldosterone issues? BLOOD TESTS AM Cortisol------21.2---------(6.2-19.4) AM ACTH--------118----------(5-27) Plasma TSH--------------0.01---------(0.27-4.5) TSH Note: Was taking 3 grains armour, but Dr asked me to wean off isocort for testing. Body couldn't handle 3 grains without the HC support so I dropped to 2 grains for a couple weeks, and then to 1 (for the 2 days prior to test). FT4-------------1.29-----------(0.93-1.70) FT3-------------378------------(230-420) RT3--------------21------------(11-32) T3/RT3----------18------------(>20, per these forums) DHEA-S---------94------------(25-220) PARTIAL RESULTS OF COMPLETE METABOLIC PANEL, FASTING GLUOSE----------98-----------(70-100) SODIUM--------139------------(133-145) POTASSIUM----3.8------------(3.3-5.1)

Though they look pretty normal for an AM cortisol draw the high ACTH suggests they can;t produce what your body wants. i ALSO THINK IT SHOWS YOU WERE STRESSED FOR THE BLOOD DRAW. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
I was a little stressed for the blood draw. I had a bunch of tests run, and the tech pulled out about 6 vials. I have needle anxiety, so asked for the child's size needle, like I usually do. The tech said she had to use the regular size, since there was so much blood to be drawn. I ended up with a dark purple hematoma the size of a silver dollar. > > AM Cortisol------21.2---------(6.2-19.4) > AM ACTH--------118----------(5-27) Plasma > TSH--------------0.01---------(0.27-4.5) > > High ACTH is your body asking for more cortisoo, LOTS more whne it is that high, and not getting it from the looks of your cortisol levels.
