Today I took 30mg of Armour. I got a headache and felt really really

really tired and spaced out. I was on 75mcg of levothyroxine.

I thought the t4 lasted a week in our systems...why am I feeling this

bad??

Thanks for the input.

So, today I took the 30 mg pill, after being on the 75mcg levo stuff.

About an hour after taking the armour, I got a headache, and felt

really really spaced out and tired.

Whats causing this?

I shouldn't be that hypo that quick....

Should I give the armour a few days to kick in, or go back to the levo

stuff and work on my adrenals more, I never felt this weird on the

levothyroxine.

Thanks

Did you look at the conversion table at www.armourthyroid.com

http://www.armourthyroid.com> to determine how much Armour to take?

When I switched I felt so much better.

So, should I stick with the 1/2 grain (30mg) for a few days, or jump it

up to the 1 grain (60mg)?

I am really discouraged here.

Or, should I probably support my adrenals more and better, before

taking any higher doses?

I've got to have something, because i had the RAI and have no thyroid,

so not taking any thyroid meds would be deadly after afew weeks.

Thanks for the advice.

Im starting to loose hope here.

Tommorrow Im going to try 15mg in the morning and 15mg in the

afternoon.

If I still get the same effect, I dont know what Im going to do.

I never had any problems on the higher doses of synthroid. once they

lowered me to 25mcg, all my problems began. maybe I should just go back

to that amount, and pray.

i've got cortef on hand, but everything i've read, scares the crap out

of me--especially needing it in an accident situation.

Im starting to loose hope here. Im 23 years old, and cannot walk around

for mroe than 10 minutes without getting dizzy. I cannot live at all

the way I use to live, and no dang doctors give me the time of day.

How do you ramp up on cortef, if I go that route?

Thanks

Thanks, I couldnt find it myself.

Yes, I took the saliva test way back in October, so I might be worse

off than that now. I was stage 4, they said, back then.

I just don't understand why I felt so awful with that little bit of

armour, the headache lasted all night, and the ''spaced out, tired''

feeling lasted about 41/2 hours.

Was it the t3? or just my low cortisol?

I don't know what I should do, if I should continue with the armour, or

go back to my levothyroxine and try the Cortef, at least I know I can

function on that stuff.

Thanks

,

I'm surprised that you didn't first treat adrenals if you were in stage 4? That

will make your transition to Armour easier.

Hi ,

It's been a while since we have talked! I just wanted to let you know

that while I was increasing my armour last fall, I was experiencing

afternoon headaches similar to the flu. Mine would last a few hours

and then finally go away. I was treating my adrenals as well with

IsoCort. It took about three weeks for the headaches to finally stop.

If you already know you have sluggish adrenals, then you really need to

treat them as well. It will help you to tolerate a much higher dose of

armour and in the long run, you will feel better. I am still

struggling with getting my temps completely stable again after

increasing my armour, but overall I feel much better!

Lots of luck!

Im a wimp! I started taking VIt C and B12, and rested a ton, and was

HOPING that would've been enough.

I've got the Cortef on hand, I think I'll have to start it.

I was also trying to wait to repeat the saliva test...just to know

exactly where Im at...

With a reaction like that, something definatly isn't right, I think I

need more than just vitamins. I've got DHEA on hand to im thinking

about trying.

Im a wimp. Im scared to try the Cortef. Ive read so much about people

having probelms getting to their optimal dose on the HC. I hate to

induce more symptoms. I was trying suport just by vitamins and such

and sure enough, when I tried the Armour...no good!

I think Im going to have to start the cortef, I've only got a three

months supply and finding another doc to prescribe it might be hard

too.

Also, I REALLY wanna repeat the saliva test BEFORE starting anything

to find out how bad off they are...or if its something else going on.
