Guest guest
Has anyone used D-Ribose for energy, and did it work well? I could use more energy. its good for energy metabolism, and will help fatigue. heres some info on it- D-ribose , or ribose is a naturally occurring sugar used by every cell of the body. It's an essential compound in energy metabolism, serving as a building block for adenosine triphosphate (ATP)—the body's basic energy source. D-ribose is also the carbohydrate backbone of genetic material, DNA and RNA, certain vitamins and other important cellular compounds. Research has shown that ribose helps the body to maintain healthy energy levels in the heart and muscle tissues. It maximizes energy recovery and may also increase energy reserves. If you work out more than three or four times per week, your body may not have the rest time it needs between sessions for heart and muscle energy pools to return to normal levels. Taking ribose may shorten the time needed by heart and muscle tissue to replace energy lost through vigorous exercise. Exercise can greatly increase oxygen utilization, which increases the generation of free radicals, or unstable molecules that can damage the membranes and DNA of healthy cells. Studies suggest that ribose supplementation during exercise may reduce free radical formation. It may also relieve post-exertional muscle cramping and soreness. sherie
Guest guest
Hello Mark, yes I will let you know how it works, I would like to try it soon. im working out again and need the energy, I have read that most people with adrenal problems should not exercise. but once I start to workout I feel pretty good. In early 2006 I had energy ,I was in shape, ..I dont know what happened:( sherie > > Yes my doctor sold me some to try a few weeks ago. > > I have no idea if it was coincidence or not but I began slowing feeling > worse for a full week. I thought back trying to figure out anything > I'd changed and the D-Ribose was one of them so I stoped. Guest guest
Hi Sherie, I have been using d-ribose for about 6 months now. I suffer from fibromyalgia/ Adrenal fatigue/ hypothyroidism. I noticed a big improvement after taking d-ribose. i have never heard of anyone having a bad reaction to it as it is only a suger that is made naturally by the body. The job of the mitochondria is to provide energy in the form of ATP. If the mitochondria is not working properly you may need to take d-ribose which provides the body with ATP. For more info go to page 11 of sarah myhill's book: http://www.drmyhill.co.uk/article.cfm?id=362 I hope this helps.
