Guest guest
Delores you have a good point. I also feel like if it feels good in your body that is where you need ot be, and I also take more estrogen than is recommended for my age and will probably be raising it again. I also have strange and BAD reactions to progesterone and do not intend ot increase it, in fat I may stop it entirely as I ahve no uterus to worry about. I started retaining fluid after starting P cream recently and stopping it the fluid went away immediately, pretty conclusive for me. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Thank you Delores. It has helped me a lot. You know, I often wondered if I made the right choice, when at 42 years of age and I stopped menstruating, to not take HRT. My ob/gyn pushed and pushed for me to do so and I refused. I was afraid of it. Of course I'm talking about synthetics.....the bio's weren't around then in my part of the world. Most of my friends are on synthetics and doing just FINE. They have energy, look young etc. Those are the ones who are on Synthroid too LOL And here I am ... taking supplements like crazy,,,,eating organic, treating adrenals/thryoid, not taking HRT over fears of cancer etc....and basically not doing as well as my friends!!! I didn't help me either...that I had a jump start on this at age 42....so have had to deal with post meno issues a lot earlier than most women. This thread has definitely made me revisit the idea of HRT...and of course, now will only consider the bio's. I had done progest. cream for a while, but nothing more. Thank you for your help and encouragement. Guest guest
I envy you Val. I too feel great just on estrogen & would never use progesterone if I did not have to. Meno & hypo hit me at the same time. The estrogen took care of the hot flashes, insomnia, night sweats & every other meno symptom within a month. The hypo on the other hand is still not right after 2 years of adjusting meds. GRRRR Gale > > Delores you have a good point. Guest guest
I find this interesting - have been taking Premarin since a total hysterectomy last year, and supplemented (without doctor's advice) with progesterone cream... if I take the dose recommended on the container, I can't sleep, become very anxious and eventually depressed. VERY small doses every other day seem to give me a bit of energy, but it is NOT the calming effect that you hear about. Guest guest
Will you treat this on your own or do you have a doc that is helping? I too have low testosterone and low dheas and my ratio of progesterone to estrogen is low (as well as cortisol being low).
