Val, thanks for your response. So if I start supplementing with

bioidentical estrogen, will that risk of diabetes resolve? FYI, I am

taking 25mg Cortef and am having problems adding Armour. I'll also be

supplementing bioidentical progesterone, and according to another post

of yours this morning, that may lead to lowered aldosterone & sodium.

You wrote " cautious use of progesterone in adrenal fatigue is

advisable. " So, will THIS be a problem for me? I believe one is

supposed to supplement both to have a correct balance. Right?

Thanks in advance for help,

-Sharon

If you stil have a uterus you need progesterone BALANCED with estrogen.

BLANCE is the key. TOO much of any hormone is just as bad as too little

ANY of them. I do nto know if taking estrogen wuld totally eliminate th

epossibility of Diabetes, but it has lowered my insulin needs by almost

half.

Val,

Do you have a source for saying that low estrogen while on HC can cause

diabetes? I really need some kind of documentation. I was just reading

the info that came with my Vivelle Dot Rx (estradiol) and IT says that

the estradiol medication can cause diabetes! So I don't know what to

think!?

Thanks,

I never said that! What I said was I believe by stopping my estrogen I lowered

my OWN insulin and MAY HAVE caused my OWN Diabetes. The pancreas has estrogen

receptors and estrogen triggers insulin release when glucose is too high as well

as the glucose itself. It may also lower insulin resistance as it is an anabolic

hormone. Taking too much HC can predispose someone to high glucose, and insulin

reisstance. Add to that lowering the beneficial effects of normal estrogen and

it MIGHT be enough to trigger Diabetes in a person that would be prone to it

anyway.
