Guest guest
I am in the same situation, all of my sex hormones are flat-lined and I have tried supplementing with bio-identical hormone creams that my dr. has had custom blended for me and they all give me migraines, accept for progesterone it is the only hormone cream I have been able to tolerate, but I am not currently using it. I am on 30 mg of HC, have been on it for 6 mo. now and my vision has been very blurry for the last 2 months, it was somewhat blurry before that but has gotten worse. I was told that the blurry vision was a thyroid symptom and would get better when I could get optimized on the thyroid. I cannot tolerate Armour and have only been able to tolerate NaturThroid in small doses for short times. My iron is very low, but has been going up since I have been diligent with my iron supplements. I have been feeling very dizzy and just weird, like I am not in my body, I have no clue why. I bumped up my HC to 30 mg from 25, but maybe that was wrong? I am really frustrated because the HC has helped me in many ways, but now I am feeling worse. I will be having aldosterone and renin checked later this week, also serum am acth test, LH and FSH. So, if they show it is pituitary, what am I going to do since I cannot tolerate taking any hormones?? Also, if the HC has now messed with my blood sugar............yikes, there are never any easy answers are there?! I wish I could wean off it, but know it is going to be hard. How do you optimize things when taking one thing imbalances another?? < >
Guest guest
If you raise the FERRITIN and get cortisl righ tyou should be able to tolerate thyroid MUCH better. Those two things are critical to your body being abnle to utilize the thyroid hormones properly. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
< > Yes, I am working on that, but if I cannot take hormones to get my sex hormones up to where they need to be, I am probably never going to be able to optimize. I am feeling frustrated with that, as taking the HC has caused all of my sex hormones to go even lower causing me to have terrible joint pain. Guest guest
I have never read ANYWHERE that taking HC lowers sex hormones, with the ;possible exception of estrogen as HIGH estrogen is caused by low cortisl but by bringing cortisl to NORMAL should NORMALIZE estrogen not take ti too low. If it goes TOO low then it would have nbeen too low wiht your own body's normal cortils if it could produice it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Not Val, but I have a question: How high is your blood sugar? I had blurry vision until just a few months before I was diagnosed with diabetes. The reason you cannot tolerate Armour could be your low ferritin. in OH >>>I am on 30 mg of HC, have been on it for 6 mo. now and my vision has been very blurry for the last 2 months, it was somewhat blurry before that but has gotten worse. Guest guest
You want to checkit first thingin the morning before oyu et or drink anything. Thenagainin abotu 1-2 hours again do not eat anything. Thsi wil give oyu a good idea of fasting and Dawn Rise. Then you can have breakfast and check 2 hours after eating which is called post prandial. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
You can smoke or drink water, and it is not every AM you will have to do this, just to get a baseline. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
<> I have never read it anywhere either, but that has been my experience unfortunately, for whatever reason. I had my sex hormones re-tested after having been on the HC for 3 months and they were all lower, especially my DHEA and testosterone, which were already extremely low, and are now bottomed out. My estrogen was still >1, it didn't go up at all. If I try to supplement the hormones, I feel worse, so I am in a Catch-22, as I need them, but have not found any way to supplement them, which is very discouraging. My mom is 74 and has shrunk at least 3-4 inches in the last few years, so I am sure the same thing will happen to me. She has never supplemented with hormones for the same reason, they make her sick. So, not sure what to do, kind of frustrating.
Guest guest
< > I just got a blood sugar meter yesterday and tested this morning for the first time, it was 98. The pamphlet said that was in normal range, but it didn't say if that is normal for fasting, so any input would be appreciated. I took it this morning after I showered and before I used my cortisone cream. I had not ate since the night before. When is the best time to test it and what is a good range?? The pamphlet that came with it said blurry vision could be from high or low blood sugar. I have been hypoglycemic for years, I have to eat every few hours to keep my blood sugar stable. So, it could be from low blood sugar, but it has been worrying me that it has gotten so much worse in just the last few months. I have been feeling very tired and worn out and I had been feeling pretty good for a while, so I am having some sort of a set back. I just had my iron re-checked, so I'll see where that is in a few days. Thanks for your input!
Guest guest
98 i son the upper end of normal but well within normal ranges. It is NOT high enough ot cause vision problems but if it is fluctuating wildly it stil canevne when it is normal. I would check as you did today several days a week. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
