Guest guest
>> So taking Cortisol SR is different than taking HC? Does the HC get used up much quicker? Don't you think going from 5 to 15 without be a shock the system? I will try the 7.5-2.5-2.5-2.5 tomorrow. If I feel the adrenaline kicking in say on my 3:00 dosing should I not do the night time one? << Yes the SR has the rythm built in to the capsules. Most are meant to last 12 hours or more so what you are getting would be slowly released over theat time where as regular HC is gone in 3-4 hours, tops. You are defeating the SR purposse by taking it spoit up and leaving your self vey low in cortils in the AM when your body needs it th most, and by taking so much later in the day you are setting yourself up toi have high night time cortisl which WILL cause sleep problems. >> Isn't it important to take Cortisol SR four times a day? Don't you want to regulate the rhythm of your adrenal glands?<< Not the SR, it is liek taking Pred. Not all of whtat you take is released into your bloodstream when you take the SR caps. Only about 1/2rd of it is released, then in a few more hours another 1/4 has dissolved and then in a few MORE hours the last 1/4 would be released. so by taking 15mg all in the AM (say 8am)and figuring it lasts about 12 hours, you would be getting 7.5 in the morning, then by noon another 5- then by 3pm then later another 2.5. If you take the 2.5mg at 3PM and it lasts 12 hours, you can see how this is not what oyu want and much to o high a level at night would be created. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
val, the cortisol SR sounds alot more convenient if able to take once a day? have you and others found it is just as effective? and what about cortisol SR versus medrol then? do any of your sources you send in email sell cortisol SR too or is it harder to get? > > >> So taking Cortisol SR is different than taking HC? Guest guest
SR COrtisol must come from a compounding pharmacyand requires a script. I am not so sure it works better. It is less flexible for dosing a it only absorbs at it's own rte and not necessarily ewhen you need it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
So, I should hold the 5-5-.2.5-2.5 for 5-7 days and see if it calms down? So far today I have taken 5-2.5-2.5. Should I take an extra 2.5 this afternoon? To keep it at 15? Also, I noticed today I feel hypo symptoms; stiffness, uneasy. Do you think that is what is happening; that yesterday I was on 15 and used all my T3 and now today going back down to 12.5 I notice the hypo symptoms more? Its such a catch 22 with the Cortisol having the same symptoms too high and too low. Also, If I have temps that are within .2 three days in a row I should add T3?? I am at about 30 mcg. How much would you go up from there? I take it in a single SR dose in the morning. I dump some of my 37.5 out. I was on 25 mcg and the doc thought I could tolerate 37.5 now I was on an increased dose of coritsol, but I wanted to wait until the temps stablilized. I just didnt' want to order more T3. Re: Increase in Cortisol Sounds liek this is the dose that is allowing thyroid to work at least most the time. That can feel a bit hyper at first when you may have some extra T3 built up inthe blood. I woiuld hold this dose a whille and see if ti calms down after 5-7 days. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Thanks Val! I feel the am is when I need it the most. I think this morning I could have increased to 7.5 and when it comes to the second dose I sometimes feel I am not needing it, but take it anyway, and then when it comes to evening I feel like I have the adrenaline rush and probably won't be able to sleep because it causes me to have a hard time breathing. So, you said perhaps it is the SRT. What is that? Slow release?? So, you said try 7.5, 2.5, 2.5, 2.5 and then said I shouldn't need the later day doses. Can you explain I am not sure I am understanding you right. Do you mean I would only need 7.5, 2.5, 2.5 or 7.5 and 2.5 or something like that? Re: Increase in Cortisol >>It seems like everytime I try to increase the Cortisol SR from 5-5-2.5-2.5 I have breathing problems at night and am not able to sleep. I have been doing pretty good with sleeping on 5-2.5-2.5-2.5. Yesterday, when I went up to 15 I felt a little hypied, but not hyper irritated. I was in a good mood but just didn't feel calm, more a burst of energy. Any idea?<< Perhaps it is the SRT that is the problem. I would try 7.5 - 2.5 - 2.5 - 2.5, in fatc if the SR is working correctly you should not need all those littlke later day doses but should be able to take most in the AM. SR is supposed to relase the most soon after taking ti thenslowly release the balance at a later time. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Re: Increase in Cortisol >>So, you said try 7.5, 2.5, 2.5, 2.5 and then said I shouldn't need the later day doses.<< Try the first schedule first, if you still do not sleep well, then try taking the WHOLE 15mg dose in the AM. SR is just that and made so it stays slowly in the body longer which shoiudl remove the need for multidosing. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Thank you! This is what I am feeling. I was feeling to reved up in the evening. I didn't get much sleep last night either and I was on my 5-2.5-2.5-2-25. This makes sense also because when ramping up and getting to the fourth doses is when things started to not improve but have troubles.....I will let you know how this works. Guest guest
Val~ You said you would want to have regular HC on hand for stress dosing. Do you think I should ask her for HC instead of Cortisol SR? Or should I just stick with the once a day dosing? You mentioned to try 7.5-2.5-2.5-25 today and see if I sleep. Should I not take the last 2.5 of the day or would that cut me short for morning? I would really like to sleep tonight. I have to say that I didn't have the adrenaline rushes that I had been having on 5-5-2.5-2.5 or rushes on 5-2.5-2.5-2.5. So, maybe I am getting enough at one time so it is released more smoothly??? Thanks Val!
