Guest guest
I contacted a pedi Endo (mainly for curiosity) and gave a brief rundown of how my kid tested low cortisol on saliva and has elevated tsh...etc. He said they would do a 24 urine cortisol test. Basically, looking for 's..which she doesn't have signs of. I have not run across this form of testing...is is useless??
Guest guest
The 24 hour urine tests for metabolites of cortisl so not totally useless, BUT if cortisol is high at one time of the day and low another it will not detect it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
This is what I thought...maybe they should do blood serum cortisol in the am and then do a ACTH serum..which is what I plan to ask for. I already have the saliva test which clearly shows the problem, they just won't take that seriously. And of course we need to figure out if this is pituitary related or not. > > The 24 hour urine tests for metabolites of cortisl so not totally > useless, BUT if cortisol is high at one time of the day and low another > it will not detect it. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >
