Guest guest
Yes cortiosl has everything to do wiht blood sugar! But you certainly cannot listen to doctors about this as thye all belive taking it will raise glucose.. I am Diabetic and I can tell you having cortils RIGHT is what is needed to help glucose levels. Thyroid also helps reduce insulin resistance and estrogen stimulates insulin release from the pancreas. My glucose actually comes down when I take HC! Yes you can monitor your glucose at home! Meters can often be found for FREE isf oyu ask at your local pharmacy, and if not then oyu can find them cheap on Ebay. The strips are expensive, but you can also find a bit better opricing on Ebay fo rthem too. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets

Until you can get your levels of both up, following a diabetic diet might be helpful. I recommend The Diabetes Diet by Bernstein. Guest guest
Can you tell by labs if you are insulin resistant? Last time I had a fasting blood sugar, my glucose was 89 (65-99), my insulin was 18 (<10). Do you know what this means? Am I insulin resistent? I know I tend to be hypoglycemic, although have never been dxed with it. Thanks, Lynn > > Yes cortiosl has everything to do wiht blood sugar! Guest guest
my glucose was 89 (65-99), my insulin was 18 (<10). These are not thwe best tests for insuklin resistance, but if I had to guess I would say yes you are insulin resistant a bit. Highish insulin wiht normal glucose means the insulin is not working as it should be. I believe a Glucose Tolerance Test is best ot show insulin resistance., -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Lynn, You need to get a glucose monitor and check your blood sugar after eating also. I would check it 1 hour after eating to see if it rises significantly. That is not a good insulin level at all. Did your doctor make any comments about it? If you find that your blood sugar is rising after eating, you should adjust your diet pronto. What kind of a diet do you consume now? How do you know that you're hypoglycemic? You may actually be having problems from your blood sugar being too high, not too low. The symptoms can be very similar. Linn > > Can you tell by labs if you are insulin resistant?
