1. I was wondering how much Cortef should i use, and how should i

dose it thoughout the day? Im going to work myself up to 50-60mcg of

T3, but i want to have consistant energy levels and effects of the

T3 without crashing or getting tired later in the day. I want to

fully heal my adrenals and support them so they can handle the T3,

and enough Cortisol to heal my adrenals. But i dont want my Cortisol

levels too high as it will make me gain fat and all kinds of other

problems. This seems VERY trickey to get the right dose, ect.

No one can predict how much cortisol you will need. I would start wiht 5mg in

the AM and 2.5mg at noon and see how that goes. Graph your temps! www.drrind.com

has excellent means to graph temps to tell you when cortisl is high enough but

if you wait to do this you may miss the sweet spot and take too much.

2. In your experience, when a persons morning Cortisol is low, but

high in the afternoon, does this usually mean that thyroid hormones

appear higher in the blood than they actually are? The majority of

the time?

Often times YES as th eAM cortils is the most important level of the whole day,

when it isn;t right things don;t work right.

3. I was thinking about taking this topical transdermal product

called Dermacrine that contains DHEA and Pregnenolone.

How would this effect somebody in my case with Adrenal fatigue?

I would use separate DHEA adn Pregnenolone. Start them separately as some folks

have bad results with pregnenolone and if you do the two together you will nto

know which is causing what reaction.

4.How do these hormones effect the Adrenals, Cortisol, T3 and T4,

and their availability to enter the cells?

DHEA is am adrenal hormone that helps the immune system and helps the general

metabolism of other hormones. It is known ot give energy. I do nto think it

necessarily affects either cortils or thyroid.

5.What is DHEA's effect on Cortisol? Does it lower Cortisol?, raise

Cortisol? Does it block Cortisols effects?

I have heard in some places that DHEA lowers cortisl but I have not found that

to be true. I do nto believe it blocks cortisl's effects either.

6.What about Pregnenolone? Does it convert to Cortisol and

Progesterone?

Pregnenolone is a precursor to cortils and several other hormones but if your

body is not wokring right to make the right hormones, who;s to say it will make

proper use of this whne you add more? I liek ot replace exactly the hormones

that are low, not precursors.

7.Does Progesterone effect Cortisol or Thyroid in any way?

Progesterone is a precursor to cortisl but it also canmimmick cortils in the

body and bind to cortisl receptors blocking cortisol from wokring.

8. Does lowering Estrogen effect Cortisol or Thyroid in any way? Or

the Adrenals?

Lowering estrogen will free up more thyroid hormone for the body to use. Raising

CORTISOL should help lower your estrogen.
