Guest guest
To all of you who have overwhelmingly responded to my question on hospital sites, thank you so much for you support. I've been just out here lurking a bit. My daughter is so young right now I feel I'm not quite " with it " when I read some of your messages on your children. But I'm still here lurking and learning. I will be posting questions as they pop up for sure. Someone did post something about reflux a few days ago of which I found quite interesting. Trinity has it pretty bad. She spewed all over her daddy last night and they both had to change their clothes. I can't say I didn't secretly find it funny, but I did. She's done it to me before and he just poo poo'd it. Now he got a taste of his own medicine. Ha! Ha! He told me she tried to take in 8oz out of her bottle and she really only has about a 6oz tummy right now. She is 6 months but only weighs around 11-12 pounds right now so she's still really tiny. She definitely has quite an appetite. Her eyes are bigger than her stomach for sure. Trinity had a really good session at her physical therapy today for her tortacollus (sp?). She's finally getting more mobility in that neck so I'm hopeful in the next month or so she'll start rolling over. She tries now but I think the tightness in that neck is preventing her from doing so. I will keep in touch and I will still be lurking and learning. Take Care. Guest guest
, Our daughter also had torticollis when she was born. Several months of PT did the trick in loosening it up. Is your PT having you do stretching exercises at home? wouldn't tolerate these well when she was awake--I think they must have been pretty painful for her. But we could do them easily with her when she was sleeping, and she'd never wake up. When she was napping, we would lay her across our lap and do a gentle stretch of the neck muscle for about 20 minutes at a time. This really seemed to help a lot. , mom to (5) http://kauffmanlak.blogspot.com/ --------------------------------- Building a website is a piece of cake. Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi !! Yes, they have given us exercises for her to do at home. I never thought about trying her exercises when she was sleeping. I'll have to attempt that. She is doing pretty well. She is moving her head from side to side pretty well. The hardest movements for her are ear to shoulder. Poor baby. Tummy time has been really good exercise for her. We have turned her so that she has to look over her bad side to see what's going on on her floor mat, in her swing and on her bouncy seat. Now if we could just get her to sit that would probably help as well. We have taken her swing and put her in a sitting position so she isn't laying back. I'm thinking this helps with her tummy and neck muscles a bit as well. She has so much catching up to do with spending 3 1/2 months of her life in the hospital. I think her older sister helps with her catching up physically and mentally. Happy 4th!!
