Hi,

My daughter is one who has fibromyalgia and vitamin D deficiency, low

cholesterol, and very high cortisol on salivary tests. She has had three

50,000 iu gelcaps of vitamin D, separated by a week between them. A few

days after the first dose of D, her urinary cortisol was tested at 14.2

with a reference range for her age of 3-55.

Right before starting the vitamin D, her ACTH was 8 with a scale of 6-48.

After the third dose of vitamin D, she seemed so much more alive than she

has been for months.

She takes cytomel, 10 mgs a day, 5 in the morning and 5 at night. Her TSH

was recently 0.69. Her free T3 was 391 (287-455) and her free T4 was 1.2

(0.9-1.4) Around Thanksgiving, her TSH was 1.019, her T3 was 153 (91-164)

and her T4 was 7.4 (4.5-12) I don't know why the reference ranges are so

different. Her parathyroid and calcium are quite normal.

Any comments?

Looks liek the first thyroid levels are the " free " thyroid and the second ones

are " total " thyroid. The can be measured in different increments., I would say

she needs a bit more thyroid but not much.
