Guest guest
Thanks Linn, I have been using Natural Progesterone cream for a few years now, just 2 weeks each month. My progesterone levels have always been LOW, and in pregnancies I have to use a progesterone supplementation during 1st trimester to sustain pregnancy. I just started back up on Vitex last week after being off it for a few months. I notice when I'm on Vitex, my periods are not as heavy and my cycle is just plain BETTER. And I'm anemic already and trying to raise my ferritin level, so I think the Vitex should help as far as my periods not being as heavy. But about the fibrocystic breast tissue, it doesn't seem to go away just being on the progesterone cream. And the longest I've ever been on Vitex at one time was 8 weeks. I know its " long acting, " and maybe I didn't give it the chance. Do you know how long you can be on Vitex and it be safe?? Oh, and no I don't take any birth control pills or IUD or anything -- used to be on the pill years ago, but it completely messed me up and now I have a hereditary blood clotting problem so can't be on it anyway. You mentioned that iodine would not be completely out with having Hashi's, how so? A few other ladies just told me recently that most people with Hashi's have problems when they get on iodine...... do you know of people who have been ok?? And what kind of dosage did they try? Was it a mild form? I just feel scared about that as I don't want my Hashi's to worsen, its already the pits! Thanks for your help! -Marcy
Guest guest
Progesterone can be a life saver if you're low, or at least a uterus saver. I know it saved me from having to have a hysterectomy. Just keep a eye on the Vitex and maybe not supplement more than six months at a time. What kind of blood clotting problem do you have? There are people on the iodine list with Hashi's that use iodine and also some that had problems that could be of help to you. I was a big wuss when I first started out on iodine and started with very small amounts and worked my way up to taking 1 tab of Iodoral per day. You don't have to start out taking large amounts. iodine-subscribe http://www.iodine4health.com Another item you might want to try with heavy bleeding problems is magnesium. A large percentage of women with bleeding problems are low in magnesium. Magnesium citrate or magnesium glycinate are the best choices. The most absorbable form IMO is Natural Calm, it comes in a rasberry lemon flavoring that you drink hot like a tea.
