Was thinking of trying Florinef, does it look like I need it?

I was salt fasting before these tests, I drink water with celtic sea

salt in it twice a day , almost a whole teaspoon of salt each time.

I love salty foods. I need to use the restroom a lot, I CANT STAND

warm weather and now its starting to heat up here in WV:( I get very

stressed and grumpy in warm weather. I feel dehydrated alot, and

have too many headaches, and I get too hot at night and sometimes

sweat while I sleep. I am fatigued all the time-Low energy/stamina, I

have palpitations on occasion. And very bad brain fog most of the

time. I know I have forgotten some symptoms.

I believe these can be low aldosterone symptoms.

My Labs =

Aldosterone 8.8...RANGE -standing 4-31, ...supine 1-16 ( I WAS SITTING)

Renin Activity 0.6... RANGE- resting 0 - 2.7,.. random 0 - 6.0, ..

lasix 2.5 -9.1 (I WAS SITTING)

SODIUM 135 *LOW RANGE136-146 *****LOW

POTASIUM 3.8 RANGE 3.5 -5.1

CHLORIDE 99 RANGE 98-110

The last few time I was at the doctors I got my BP readings, im

not sure if they are on the low side or not-

Oct 05 07 =102/62

Jan 7 08 =110/70

Feb 18 08 =110/60

Mar 7 08 =113/62 (very stressed before I had a GH STIM TEST)

Also which one is better? or does it make a difference.=

Florinef (Astonin) or FLORICOT (Fludrocortisone, Florinef)

Your low Renin wiht also low aldosterone indicates you have a pituitary problem

more than likely and I also agree you would benefit from Florinef. But you may

also need to supplement potassium with it, I owuld have potassium labs run again

after a month of Florinef to make certain it is not falling too low.

Thank you Val. im a bit scared of taking steroids, I have read about

the side effects from them. im already taking isocort. I have a

respect for steroids, but I guess I really need them so ....

I had a family member tell me not to get on them , that they are

dangerous and to get the opinion in favor of taking them from two

doctors. this person also said it is a life long decision and

commitment to get on these meds, I tried to tell them differently.

but the thing is I cant get ONE doctor to admit that I need

cortisol and florinef. so I need to self treat I guess.

What you need to read is " Safe Uses of Cortisol " it tells of the LACK of

side effects form a physiological dose of steroids when taken to replace

what your body cannot make any longer.
