Guest guest
Your aldosterone is a bit low but not horrible, You can probably get by wiht jhust lots of sea salt and do include some high potassium foods in your doet as it is a bit low as well. Your RT3 is too high! But that may correct as you were on too low a cortiosl dose and you should get your T3 higher than it is . actually it looks like you need mroe t4 and T3 but I am betting wiht higher cortisol now you will need ot lower T4 and take more Armoru. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Thank you Val. Can you tell me how much sea salt I should be taking and when? I've been taking a dose in the AM but not in the PM. Before I got the blood results, you and I had a discussion that even though my temps aren't stable on 30 mg HC, I should start raising armour (b/c I don't have a thyroid) by switching out 50 mcg of the synthroid every few weeks with 30 mg of Armour. Based on these lab results, is this still the plan I should follow? I'm ready to start doing something w/ the thyroid meds. thanks for all your help! lexie >
Guest guest
Lexie.. I am sorry I slept and lost the whoel train of thought. Every mornign al you people's labs and our conversations from the day before are a blank slate. When I try toi remember form the day before what we were taliing abotu i am liable to mix people and their situations up. Guest guest
No problem. Here are my labs: Based on this can you tell me how much sea salt I should take and when? And last week you suggested that I begin switching out 50 mcg of synthroid every couple of weeks with 30 mg Armour. (right now I take 100 mcg synthroid & 1 grain Armour per day). Just wondering if, based on these labs, that plan of attack is still the way to go. I'm on 30 mg of HC now. Temps not stable but hovering around 97.6 most of the time. And I had a thyroidectomy 4 years ago. Guest guest
I would start with 1/4 tsp sea salt twice a day and eat potassium rich foods such as nbananas and orange juice. I am sure you can find a list of foods on the web that are high in potassium as yours really needs to come up. There is no sodium labs btu I am willing to bet itis low as well. Is there any possibility your parathyroid was damaged when they removed your thyroid? I as as your calcium is a tad low too. Not bnad but most women I see tend towards the top of that range. I still think swapping over to Armoru will be the best thing you ever did! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
hi again Val. Thanks for the salt and potassium advice. I'll begin that tomorrow. And I'll start the Armour increase as well. next time I have labs, what ranges should I be trying to acheive for RT3, Free T3, and T4? upper end of normal? Yes, my Dr. thinks my parathyroids were somewhat damaged from the surgery, although not badly. I take 25 mg of calcitrol and 1000 mg calcium per day. I agree with you - I think my calcium levels need to be higher. I feel better when my blood work is at the high end of normal. Should I get sodium lab work done at some point? One thing that has been going on w/ me for the last year or so is that I am retaining a huge amount of water. I wake up in the AM thin, and by the time I go to bed at the end of the day I am extremely puffy and bloated. Thanks for the help lexie > > I would start with 1/4 tsp sea salt twice a day and eat potassium rich > foods such as nbananas and orange juice. Guest guest
You want a Free T4 about 1.4 and Free T3 at the very top of range to slightly over, RT3 should be near the bottom of it's range. Armlur may also help your calcium levels as it contains Calcitonin whihc helps your body retain calcium in it's bones. But to get this benefit from it you woiuld need to take ti sublingually as stomach acids destroy calcitonin . -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
okay, I appreciate that info. I do take my Armour sublingually, so hopefully when I add more that will help my calcium as well. lexie > > You want a Free T4 about 1.4 and Free T3 at the very top of range to > slightly over, RT3 should be near the bottom of it's range. Guest guest
HI again Val. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but after reading posts from other for the past several days, and seeing their levels, I'm wondering if I need a little Florinef, and wondering if I should go ahead get my salt levels test to know for sure, since I didn't have that done last time. Here are my results again. I have an incredible amount of bloating/swelling throughout my body that gets worse as the day goes on. I " m really confused what is causing this. I crave salt quite a bit. I've been doing between 1/2 -1 tsp sea salt the last few days. To have blood salt levels tested, does one need to fast salt prior? For how long? Thanks for all your help. Guest guest
I would simply not take any the AM before the blood draw. for a sodium test but if you are testing Aldosterone oyu need to fast salt for 48 hours. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
