Guest guest
, what you need os CORTISOL. Bootom of range is NOT OK and yours are below range three out of four and bottom of range ofr the AM levels. At the very least oyu should be on Isocort but I suspect you will need Hydrocortisone. How are your thyroid levels? I would not advise switching to Armour with cortisl that low. It will most likely crash your adrnelas even worse. And not to be the total bearer of bad tidings, but, an endo is probably the worst doctor to see for this. They usually do not acknowledge saliva testing and insist on am cortisol bnlood labns which almost always come back " in range " in adrenal fatigue. mst endos do not recognise adrenal fatigue and unless oyu have ;s will nto treat, but maybe you will luck out and find one in a million that does understand these issues. Did you ask questions when booking the appointment? I have found MOST endo's to be the most useless profession in the medical field. Used to think they were Diabetes specialists when I learned they knew noithig about thyroid, now I am Diabetic and learned they know almost nothing about it either! The best docs seem to be Integrative or DO specialties. If oyu can find an Endo that is also a DO that might be a good place to start. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
, Thank you for your response. I didn't realize that my cortisol levels were something to be alarmed about because my integrative medicine doc said the levels were " ok. " I probably have more of a shot of getting him to address the cortisol levels than anyone else at this point. I am going to pose the question to him and see what he says. I'm switching to the endocrinologist for care of my thyroid. When I called the office last week and asked whether he is familiar with managing adrenal levels they said I would need to talk to him at my appointment. If he isn't responsive I will seek someone else out. I pray that he is an exception to the rule. If not, I have one other doc to try before hunting yet again. What is a DO? I tried researching for a few mins and found this: " The main difference between the two types of physicians is that D.O.s have been specially trained to perform osteopthic manipulations on patients. They view the patient as a 'total person " and focus on preventative care. They view the whole body rather than treat specific symptoms or illness. D.O.s use Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) in their practice. " Is that what you were suggesting...to find someone like that? Right now my thyroid levels are unknown. I was TSH of .08 in mid-January and then TSH of 3.7 three and a half weeks ago. I'm waiting for the TSH to lower (and thyroid levels to rise). At the very least I hope that the endocrinologist can better manage my thyroid...even in the interim...than my other doctor has done (general practitioner). I feel so overwhelmed and unsure of what the next right thing to do is...that's stressful in and of itself. I can't relax into the care I am getting because I don't trust it and, at the same time, trying to find someone I can trust to care for me. Craziness. Thank God for my husband. I never have to prove to him that I am not well or apologize for the fact that during our first year of marriage he has had a wife who has been sick more than well and he has had to do 90% of the things in the household. It won't last forever... ~ > > , what you need os CORTISOL. Bootom of range is NOT OK and > yours are below range three out of four and bottom of range ofr the AM > levels. Guest guest
Yes Doctor of Osteopathy mainly as they are not only trained a a regular MD but also in Holistic treatmehts so are thus better educated in the use of hormones. Even Endos fall short in the hormone department! The lats Endo I went to told me there was nothign wrong with my thyroid I did nto need thyroid meds this after 10 years of treating hypo! Also told me Armoru would kill me that it was an outdated med and Synthroid was better. I alsmost died on Synthroid from complications of being hypo too long.. Congestive Heart Failure, which Armour has cured! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
