Guest guest
Hi! My name's and I am fairly new to the group. I have been following posts and am in the process of reading through the files provided on this site (GREAT STUFF!). My level of understanding of adrenals is very limited...probably at the kindergarten level. I'm reading and reading and reading to improve that. In the meanwhile, I'm being treated by an integrated medicine dr. and just want to get comfortable with what he's " prescribed " while I am learning more and waiting to see an endocrinologist. I'm also about to see an endocrinologist for the first time in 1.5 weeks. My hope is that he will also be able to help me. I learned a long time ago, however, not to blindly trust doctors. I prefer to be informed and participate in my own care. I'm also intrigued to learn about the relationship between hypothyroidsm, adrenals, and autoimmune. I'm hypothyroid (currently on Synthroid because I didn't know better to ask more), have fatigued adrenals on some level, and have at least two autoimmune conditions (lichen sclerosis and most likely hashimoto's is causing my hypo situation). I'm going to post below the results of my adrenal function test that were done recently. I'll include what my dr. said about the levels and then include the treatments. If there is anything " way off base " or " of interest " I would appreciate someone letting me know. TESTED LEVEL TIME NORMAL DR. SAID DHEA-Saliva 25.5 (@9:35am) (200-400) LOW Cortisol 8.5 (@9:35am) (7.0-10) OK 2.6 (@12:45pm)(3.0-6.0) OK (but...is it a tad low?) 1.6 (@5:00pm) (2.0-4.0) OK (but...is it a tad low?) .9 (10:05pm) (<1.5) OK Epinephrine 5.2 (10:45am) (35-50) LOW Norepinephrine 40.2 (10:45am) (35-50) OK Dopamine 128.7 (10:45am) (110-175) OK Serotonin 89.5 (10:45am) (150-200) LOW GABA 7.7 (10:45am) (1.5-4.0) HIGH Glutamine 33.9 (10:45am) (10-35) OK PEA 463.4 (10:45am) (175-450) HIGH Histamine 30.9 (10:45am) (10-20) HIGH Creatinine 110.8 (10:45am) No comment from Dr. His treatments are: DHEA - Continue progesterone cream...will convert into DHEA SEROTONIN - Taking L-Tryptophan and a Serotonin Max supplement EPINEPHRINE, GABA, PEA, and HISTAMINE - He didn't mention treating them at this time. Is that a bad thing? Should something be done? As I mentioned...my endocrinologist will hopefully be able to speak to these test results. Emotionally please pray for me because I am feeling very run down and it's all I can do to try to learn about this stuff so that I can ask educated questions and participate in my own care. I feel overwhelmed, but know that this feeling will pass with information/education and time...and support from a group such as this! Many thanks and blessings,
