Guest guest
Hello all. I have now used up all of my sick/vacation time for my employment. I go back to my doctor on Monday, for re evaluation. I still don't feel ready to return to work and wanted to pursue this option but have never used it before. I don't even know if my doc will agree, but he has supported me thus far. I just read the paperwork and it seems that since I work in PA but live in NJ I would have to use NJ disability.....it is all so confusing especially when it is so hard to think clearly. Any advise would be helpful! Thanks! Ruth --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage.
Guest guest
Hi Ruth, I am on medical leave and though i am not on 'disability' as in receiving the SSI or SSDI benefits. I live in California and receive State Disability Insurance. This exists in only a few states, though not sure which others. My doctor wrote the diagnosis for this as hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency and it was accepted so I get the minimal monthly payments from the Employment Department in CA. The State Disability Insurance pays a minimal amount of money to me while I am on medical leave (I have been on it now for 4 months and used all my sick/vacation time 4 months ago). However, you should DEFINITELY apply for disability benefits (whatever type NJ has), with your doctor's help. Do not be afraid to ask your doctor to assist you. If she/he doesn't believe how debilitating your condition is, then find a new one! good luck, metta > > Hello all. I have now used up all of my sick/vacation time for my employment. Guest guest
Hi Metta, Thanks for your reply...I live in NJ which does have a short term disability plan...I work in PA and they say that they do not cover me, but will supplement my STDP up to 60% of my salary.....I just need more time to heal and gain energy. mettamm77 monamotwani@...> wrote: Hi Ruth, I am on medical leave and though i am not on 'disability' as in receiving the SSI or SSDI benefits.
