Guest guest
I have read quite often -- here and at STTM/RTH, that low cortisol results in high estrogen and visa versa. For my own experience, ever since starting Cortef, I have run into strong estrogen dominance symptoms. I did a little spreadsheet of my sex hormone values -- and noticed something strange: the longer I am on Cortef or the higher I have been, the estrogen levels increased (still in range - but higher than before any treatment). THAT IS WEIRD! Why do you think that is?
Guest guest
It is hard to say but maybe your adrenals are just functioning better as the rest of you might be as well. If it goes TOO high it indicates low cortiosl. Maybe you are on too low a dose. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
The estrogen is not high -- still in the mid range. I just thought it odd that the estrogen increased (but again -- still in range) over what it was PRIOR to any HC supplementation. And actually when I was at 30mg HC, the estrogen was at its highest. That really shouldn't be. > > It is hard to say but maybe your adrenals are just functioning better as > the rest of you might be as well. If it goes TOO high it indicates low > cortiosl. Guest guest
Does cortisol decrease SHBG? That would increase E and T, wouldn't it? Guest guest
Not sure. But I will say my SHBG is very high. And, my testosterone is in the dirt (flucuates between below normal and the borderline normal ranges with free-test totally immeasurable). Was not that way before I started Cortef. > > > > > > It is hard to say but maybe your adrenals are just functioning > >better as > > > the rest of you might be as well. Guest guest
Could be. I am all over the place with this Cortisol SR. Tell me if this sounds like a good regimen. This morning I took 2.5 of HC cream before my T3 increase (mistake). I went from 27 to 34 and have a temp of 99 today. Then I took a 2.5 Cortisol SR an hour after my thyroid meds. Then at 11:30 I took 2.5 of the HC cream. I felt really hyper and jumpy. I have to take HC cream tonight so I don't interupt my sleep. Should I take another 2.5 at 3:00? Now I suppose that won't get me through the night as it is HC cream. I only have the singe dose of Cortisol SR from this morning. My doctor wants me to stay on 5 mcg of Cortisol SR total. I think I will be a mess by the time I have the appoointment in 3 weeks. I actually added my BC pills back in today. Any ideas on this? I had to do something because I think my thyroid isn't reaching my cells. Could all this be a result of not stress dosing after a car accident? I noticed I went down hill after that. How do I get the Cortisol SR to start working for me? I feel it isn't working right. I feel shaky after just 2.5 mcg of Cortisol SR int he morning. It is like it isn't working. Re: Estrogen / Cortisol Connection It is hard to say but maybe your adrenals are just functioning better as the rest of you might be as well. If it goes TOO high it indicates low cortiosl.
