Guest guest
Hey Val, Thought I'd reach out to you. I am going to the doctor today and am going to request a full batch of tests. Little update, in the past 2- 3 months I have noticed a return of my hypo symptoms. I weaned myself off Cytomel and moved back over to Armour at 2.5 grains and then begain increasing, based on the methods described in STTM. I was excited because I have been feeling better in the past 6 mths and the hair loss stopped with iron and Cytomel Well, since the change, everything has begun again. Is it possible that Cytomel is better for me than Armour? (If so, are there things I can do to protect my bones, etc on Cytomel?) I feel as though my body is not absorbing the iron and the Armour is not working. I am currently on 25g of HC daily as well. I getting many of the symptoms back with the Adrenals being off as well. (Panic attack, fast heartbeat under stress, lethargic, lack of energy, people telling me I am too stressed out, etc.) I am going to talk to my Doc about moving back over to Cytomel and see what the blood tests are. I know my new job is somewhat stressfull and I have been thinking about quitting and doing something less stressful, but I need to earn a living too, and I was feeling so good mths ago. The only reason I wanted to move up is because I knew I was not fully optimized on the Armour/Thyroid Meds as I was still getting Hives everyday and other symptoms. Thanks for your help- Jen
Guest guest
Jen I am beginning to bnelieve some folks DO better on T3. I have not been bale to wean off T3 either. I went to 4 grains Armour and 50mcg T3 and crashed. Went back to 3 grinas and 75 mcg T3 and feeling much better. So here I am staying til I get labs in May. To protect bones why not try a mix as I am doing? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
The worst part was hitting a total impasse abotu a week & a half ago. I crashed big time! I was almost unable to work., Since then I readjusted the T3 UP and lowered the Armoru 1 grain and am now on 20mg HC. Seems ot be much better but for abtu 4-5 days I could barely make myself get out of bed and was nearly unfunctional at work. Muscle pain and spasms so bad I could barely move without getting them,. NOT FUN!!! My glucose even went wacky but I thinkthat was from the fluid pills I had to take as my fluid retention that was GONE on T3 came back bad, and I have to get rid of that when it shows up as I have had Congestive Heart Failure an fluid is really dangerous when you have had that. But all seems to be settling out agian now, and I will NOT go any lower with T3 agian. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
So sorry you went through that Val. And you had been doing so well too!! Glad to hear you're back on track now. I'm still debating making the change....my thoughts now are that I really don't care if Armour is natural and cytomel is synthetic....I used to have a big hangup about that, but not any more. The calcitonin is the only issue that was pulling me more to Armour lately, but I may just have to find a cheaper source of Cytomel, and then with the money saved, invest in calcitonin supplementation for a while. My dd (24 yrs. old) is on cytomel as well, and I worry about her bones a lot. Other than that, cytomel wins in my opinion. Toooo many folks on the armour forum with big time problems that don't seem to resolve over time. I wonder what it is in the Armour that caused you that crash? Guest guest
>>I wonder what it is in the Armour that caused you that crash?<< I do nto think it was the Armour, but low T3. I have pretty much alwqys had trouble converting T4 to T3, but had hoped by clearing out the RT3 this would change... guess not! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
