Guest guest
I only take it for heartburn. I take lemon juice or apple cider vinegar between meals and has helped me tremendously. The baking soda is just 'another' way to alkalinize the body when it is too acidic. Naffy > > Naffy, > > > > It's that simple?!?! Guest guest
All baking SODA is aluminum free. Baking POWDER is a mix of baking soda and cream of tartar, and many brands do have aluminum. sol nafoel wrote: > The only caution I > would take is to buy aluminum -free baking soda. Guest guest
Hey All, i just want to second the " lemons turn alkaline in the body comment " . What we often think of as acidic is not. (Bread turns acidic in the body.) I am pretty sure if you do some research, you will find a list of acidic foods. (Any nutritionist should have this as well.) If you'd like to learn more about the cleansing power of lemons you can check out the book on the lemonade diet at any Whole Foods for about $7.00. It is reffered to as the master clense. (I used to do it prior to learning I was Hypo. Not recomending this, but the info on how you can heal the body and restore PH with lemons and limes is great info. > > > > > > > > > > Cristina,,,,managing ph levels is not that hard to do. Guest guest
But didn't I read correctly that you were recommending baking soda be taken before meals? When it WOULD interfere with digestion? sol nafoel wrote: > I only take it for heartburn. Guest guest
Sol, sorry you are po'd! You, me and ALL of us have to take what we read by alternative medicine practitioners, conventional medicine practitioners, and snake oil salesman, and FILTER out the knowledge from the hype. Having said that, when you try something and IT WORKS, then I feel you must share it with the rest of your fellow sufferers. Of course alkalinizing your body is not a cure all.....but if your stomach produces too much acid (and yes, there are some of us with too much) then baking soda works like a charm. I am proof of that. If you have low stomach acid, of course you would not be doing this. I think it's important to test before taking anything, and I agree that no one should blanket say " do this only'. But the fact that it doesn't work for everyone, does not negate the fact that it does indeed work for some. http://www.rense.com/1.mpicons/acidalka.htm Take care, Naffy > > Many foods we consider acidic, convert to alkaline in the body, > > lemons being one of them. > Yes, BUT, which foods produce acid and which produce alkaline are not > the same for every person. > It is unique to the individual.
