cortone or hydrocortisone or Deltacortril?

I have been prescribed Cortone for my adrenal insufficiency. I live in Italy

where hydrocortisone is not available but Deltacortril is.(recommended by Dr

Peatfield)

Cortone has a different molecule but at physiological doses might be the

same. I want to start taking one of these soon as I am very tired. Please

advise.

I do believe low dose of prednisolone os quite safe though there might

be SOME small liver stress with it as it must be processed in the liver

into cortisol. What you need to keep in mind is that Prednisolone is 4

times stronger than Hydrocortisone. So you should use up tp 5mg Pred

daily rather than 20mg HC.

Val, do you mean HC is Not processed by the liver? Just curious and thank you!

Hydrocortisone is orety well ready t take up by the blood in the form we

take it in. It does not need converting like Pred does.
