Guest guest
Hey Val, Great call the other day. I believe you mentioned that when switching from Armour to Cytomel, you can move 1/2grain over to 12.5mcg on a weekly basis. My doc completely freaked out and said I should move over every 4 weeks. So I asked her if she'd like me to be Hypo for another 3 months, and if she thought I should go on disability?? She said she would let me move every 2 wks after I reminded her that this is what I did last year w/o a problem. She keeps mentioning she is worried about my heart. Is there any documentation I can use to support that this is perfectly safe? Also, is ther any way I can find out how quickly I will start to feel better? (I am trying to figure out when I can go back to work as this has been quite hard to deal with lately.) Last question...why would I not be able to handle the Armour and Cytomel works for me when Armour has t3 in it? I know some people don't convert, but am curious if there is any info on this. Does anyone just use Cytomel? I am telling the doc that I want to move over to Cytomel completely 62.5mcg (equal to the 2.5g of Armour I am on now) and if she wants to add Armour after that dose, then fine. How do you tell if Armour at any dose is working for you? P.S. She is still worried about my TSH. I mentioned that this does not measure Thyroid. Guest guest
http://www.drlowe.com/QandA/askdrlowe/heart.htm I have just spent the last abotu 11 months on T3 only and am now going back to Amrour though I am not certain I am staying on it and may yet go back to all T3. I felt a bit better on T3 so I am hoping this is juts an adjustment period and I will feel better soon. I have had Congestove Hert Failure and T3 ha NEVER hurt my heart, in fatc taking Amrour and Sea salt is what brought me back form the dead literally as I was given 2 years to live over 13 years ago.OVERDOSING on any thyroid medication is hard on the heart, btu a replacement dose of T3 is not. When I went to all T3 I felt immensely better abotu 8-12 weeks into it. I changed over 1 grain of Armru for 25mcgT3 every week, btu my adrenals were well supported. The reason we react badly to Armour whne we have high RT3 is not the T3 but the T4 in it. T4 actually becomes toxic to us as it is converted to more RT3 which then blocks all the action of T3. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Ok Val- So I should start feeling better soon. This is good to hear. I started moving over from Cytomel to Armour again in Jan and then began increasing my dose from 2.0 to 3.0 over 3 months. Now I think I did myself in as a result. The odd thing is that I was doing really well with just 50 mcg of Cytomel. My doc is concerned because my pulse has been high /80-100 typically when I am in her office. (Blood Pressure 110/70) I begged her not to take it after I take my iron becuase I feel it go up. Is there a record anywhere of people having faster rates of pulse with Hypo? I can't believe that 2.5g of Armour is doing this, unless there is a connection to RT3 and a build up of T4 which leads to an increased heart beat. I would logically think that if I went Hyper that I'd have weight loss and energy. (My symptoms today are hair loss, need to lay down for naps, deression, crying spells, hard time breating (sometimes), bad outlook on life, etc) Also in looking at my chart for the past year, my pulse was best at 76 when I was on straight t3 in August?? Adrenals-I have been on 20g of HC for the past year and take 5g, 4 times a day. I also did best when I took 12.5mcg of Cytomel 4 times a day (Sublingually). Guest guest
HIGH RT3 does cause a high er pulse. Mine goes up on Armoru and comes down on T3. If you feel worse on the Armour chances are you are making RT3 to much again. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
