Guest guest
I filled my prescriptions at Walmart and was in the car before I realized they gave me generic Cortef, has anyone had any experience with brand name vs generic? They were closed when I went back in, so I need to decide whether to take it tomorrow, or try to exchange it. Doc wrote prescription for Cortef, it pisses me off that they took it upon themselves to do generic. Also, they had no Armour in stock.........uuugggghhhhh! As to the Dr's visit, saw Dr. Sessions in Kirbyville, Tx. He said no the the Florinef, said it had too many side effects to be worthwhile, and we agreed that I'd up my sea salt instead. He said no to the ferrous furmarate or other iron supplementation, said supplemental iron is shown to cause cancer. I agreed to eat more beets and other high-iron foods.... He didn't want to do the Cortef, but got out the PDR and read it all to me, spent about 45 minutes with me total today, and he finally agreed to let me try it for 2 months to see if it would help. Woohoo! He agreed to the Armour (but the pharmacy didn't have any)prescribed 1 grain twice daily and to up it from there, gave me 100 with 2 refills. He said he's known people on 30 grains a day with no side effects before they felt better. He continued my Cytomel, 25 mg, 1 1/2 tablet daily, 45 per month with 8 refills. He gave me a 75 mg shot of ACTH and 5000 mg of B12, he said it shows where the problem may be coming from (pituitary) and if I need it, will make me feel great for a few days, and I can come back every so often for another injection. He also loaded me up on supplements, one called Stem Enhance for energy, and a few by Standard Process, called Drenamin with adrenal and liver extracts, and Pituitrophin PMG with Pituitary, Thytrophin PMG with thyroid, Pregnenolone 25, and Trace Minerals with B12....I guess I'll take those along with the 's Protocol that I'm already taking. I trust his judgment tremendously, and he beleives along the same lines that I believe, so I'm really putting a lot of faith in the program....he also recommended that I consider a series of UVB sessions in case there is an underlying infection that may be thwarting my recovery. Dr. 's lectures mention underlying infections from gum disease and other causes being a possible reason for treatment not being successful.... Wish me luck....
