Guest guest
Are you on HC? If so I would try an increase. As cortisol is the body's antiinflammatory hormone, often just being low in it causes inflammation which when it is the skin, expresses in itching. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
No, I'm not on HC presently...I had gotten my adrenals and thyroid into the comfy zone. I haven't needed to stress dose until my mom passed. Even then a couple days' worth worked well for me. Thanks for your response though. My hubby actually handed me his tube of Cortaid and that worked okay believe it or not. I was reading another post about the creams. If I hadn't had the Cortaid, I think I would have been flat on the floor. Be well! > > Are you on HC? If so I would try an increase. Guest guest
Hi , Generalized itching can also be from kidney issues. I had this when I had stuborn UTIs. When I finally got them resolved, no more itching.

Guest guest
Hi Nil, You don't even wanna know. my (former) urologist nearly killed me with antiobiotics. The infections were resistant to most abx and they gave me Macrobid twice - the second time I had an anaphylactic reaction. I finally had 10 days of IV gentamycin - big guns. I was hospitalized twice for pyelonepohritis, which simply means that the UTI had reached the kidneys. This whole trial was over the course of 6 months~! If you do have an infection, I would go ahead with the antibiotic, but - start using unsweetened cranerry juice, but not too much. One glass a day is enough. I think it is similar the the D- Mannose. I drink parsley/clery seed water (like a tea) at any sign in UT irritation now. Just brew a whole bunch (1/2 bunch if large) in about a quart of water with a few sprinkles of celery seed. Both are good to flush the kidneys. I drink it all in one day. If not, keep the unused portion in the fridge. If it looks at all cloudy, rewarm it until clear. I have not had another infection and it is going on 4 years. I also take Oreganol, P-73 gelcaps. I take one a day except on Sunday. If any illness starts, I take 2-4 a day, and use the liquid Oreganol P-73 as well. I'm happy to say that I have not needed antibiotics since except for pre-med dental work. At the time of these UTIs, I also took asparagus tea, and Colliodal Silver. So, if you were to ask me what did it, I cannot be sure. I was uncomfortable continuing the CS so only took one bottle of it. The asparagus tea was costly so I only did that for a couple of weeks, twice a day. I have had reduced kidney fuinction from longstanding hypoparathyroidism, but am doing better now that I take PTH hormone (Forteo). Thanks for your concern. I've had no more itching since the UTI fiasco. HTH, ----- Original Message ----- From: Nil Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2008 7:38 PM hi how did you resolve them? Antibiotics? i am going through UTi. Guest guest
I had some terrible itching a few months ago, and in my searches I ran across a few things. I read somewhere that sometimes low iron causes itching - I dont' recall why - but since many hyops are low in iron, that makes sense. The best relief I got was increasing my vitamin C. Apparently it is a natural antihistamine. I did read that it could be liver related as well, so increased liver supportive foods. Unfortunately I have no idea which of these worked in my case - maybe all - but I did them all together, so can't tell.
