Guest guest
I was extremely depressed for years. FIVE suicide attemps in my teens and 20's! Then I started getting on antidepressants and seeing counselors. Now wit plenty of T3 in my system, I no longer have suicidal thoughs, in fact I seldon cry and when I do now it is for real things nto imagined doom and gloom. Low T3 is a major source of depression with hypothyroidism runnign at epidemic proportions everywhere and then being treatesd wiht T4 only meds. I really feel many on antidepressants need nothing more than optimizing T3. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
hi rhonda! i'm on just regular hc 15 mgs as i feel good on that dose. i have tried 5-htp before after i weaned off effexor to try keeping serotonin levels up, but still think most of my depression is thryoid related now. i might take a little of it until i get optimized to help lift my mood more, though i'm seeing improvement on armour already. funny you ask about sleeping bc it's my nights that are hardest as i get nighttime anxiety and have pretty bad dreams to the point of night terrors though they also are seeming to get better...they are so very frightening! how have you been doing? are you making some progress too? i hope so > > Shar~ I have been wondering how you are doing. Where are you at with the Cortisol SR? I finally am taking it once a day. I have been having depression also. Have you been able to up the T3 yet? i just went out and bought some 5HTP today and had a similar post. I felt calm after taking it but I am not sure of the long term effects. How are you sleeping. Guest guest
How long since you weaned off Effexor? Could the night terrors/bad dreams be lessening from not taking it anymore? Effexor caused me a lot of bad side effects, I think including worse nightmares. But it took Cymbalta to ramp up the night terror type dreams to where instead of wanting desperately to sleep, I was terrified of sleep. Nobody warned me that bad dreams could be a side effect of these kind of meds. sol shar_141414 wrote: > i weaned off effexor.................. > > > funny you ask about sleeping bc it's my nights that are hardest as i > get nighttime anxiety and have pretty bad dreams to the point of > night terrors though they also are seeming to get better...they are > so very frightening! > >
Guest guest
hi sol...i've been off effexor now for several months. it was the last antidepressant i tried bc, like cymbalta, it effects norepinephrine as well as serotonin and my doc told me that could help with my 'fibromyalgia'...yea right...more like armour for the pain from hypot! i admit i was less depressed on it but it just made me numb...not happier just a little more stable...but all the while my hypo symptoms worsened. i'm not sure about the night terror issue. i don't recall if it made my situation worse honestly...i've had night terrors on and off for as long as i can remember and used to relate it to being 'depressed, anxious, panic ridden' but since nothing helped except ativan at times of panic attacks i'm thinking it was all along adrenal/thyroid related and seems to be getting better. the night terrors for me were/can be so frightening it's indescribable along with horrible vivid dreams of sickening scary stuff. i really hope the armour and hc in time put them to rest for good. > > i weaned off effexor.................. > > > > > > funny you ask about sleeping bc it's my nights that are hardest as i > > get nighttime anxiety and have pretty bad dreams to the point of > > night terrors though they also are seeming to get better...they are > > so very frightening! > > > > >
