Guest guest
thanks , I'll talk to my doc about the saliva test. Hopefully if he orders it, it'll be covered by insurance. For now, I decided to do the temperature test to see what that shows. > > I will tell you my experience. My symptoms were terrible. I had horrible nausea & could barely get out of bed. Talked my endo into testing my AM cortisol. I tested high normal in a blood test. Three days later, a saliva test showed flatlined cortisol. Val will tell you what I also believe to be true, Saliva is far more accurate than blood cortisol testing. Or at least in my case, that was totally true. > Hope this helps > >
Guest guest
The blood test is very inadequate way to test for low cortisol. The reason is the stressful drive to the lab, the stressful blood draw and even thinking a stressfulk though can falsely elevate cortisol levels., It also does nto show the cortil rythm which is MOST important in adrneal fatigue in that you can have normal levels once in a day then nothign the rest! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Hope this helps Re: new member--question about anxiety Is the AM Cortisol blood test enough to see if I need to be on some kind of adrenal support? I hesitate to spend money on the saliva test when the blood test is already done (I find out results tomorrow). Will the blood test at least give me an idea of whether I'm high or low? > > Your best bet is to order a home saliva test kit and test your cortiosl > levels before introducing T3 into the picture.
