Guest guest
Well they say if it lasts over 3 days it si not a cold. Maybe you should opt for antibiotics to go with the stress dosing. If I am sick for 3+ days thta is what I do, and lower the stress dose to 20MG extra a day (divided) so you will slow the high cortisl symptoms down. You should nto get these if you are dosing what your body needs to fight the infection. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Guest guest
How would a non-fasting blood glucose of 97 (2 hrs. after a meal) fit into whether or not I'm stress dosing too much? Today I stress dosed 60 mgs. of HC due to a cold. -
Guest guest
Non fatsing and 2 hours after a meal that is a perfect readoing, and shows normal cortisol ayt that time of day, and likely several hours before. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Okay, since 97 blood glucose is a perfect reading for non-fasting, can I assume that 60 mgs. stress dosing of hc for a cold is not too much hc?
Guest guest
I would still check your fasting before taking HC in the AM but it looks liek it is not too high. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Okay Val, I will check my fasting glucose before taking HC in the AM. But what could account for me needing such a large dose of HC (60 mgs) during a cold (no fever)? And how accurate is a glucose test vs. temps? -

But what could account for me needing such a large dose of HC (60 mgs) during a cold (no fever)? And how accurate is a glucose test vs. temps?<< To fight infection takes MUCH cortisol. If your adrenals do not provide it then oyu need to, some estimates say 200mg daily is used ot finght a fairly mild infection! I think the temps are quite accurate and the glucose can be accurate if you track it enough and for a long time. But what it will do is keep you out of trouble with long term high cortisol. If say you needed to stay on 60mg for three weeks, if your fasting glucose started to rise above YOUR normal levels it would indicate time to lower the dose. If it started to drop it could indicate your body is needing more cortiols than you are givng it. But it takes seeing a pattern in your glucoise to really know what it is telling you. I check glucose 6-10 times a day and have for about a year now so I have aseen the patterns it can produce. But even a week';s worht of daily readings can be useful. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
