Guest guest
Well welcome to the group . Where are you at as far as your TR ? Are you saving ? Sorry i'm nosey -38yrs (DH) Tony -39yrs (DS) -18yrs (DD) -16yrs -- New to group Hello Ladies! I joined this group a few days ago and have just kinda been watching. I decided I had better introduce myself because I hope to have a lasting friendship with all of you. So here goes, My name is I am 27. I have 3 children right now, ds 10, dd 9, dd 6. My first two I had by the time I was seventeen. I met DH when I was 18 and had my youngest a few years later. When I had her I was told by my doctor that because she was my 3rd child C-section that I had to have the TL. Well being young and having 3 children and most of the time it being a struggle, I was like... go for it! I know I have matured so much since then. The last few years I have known what a terrible mistake it was to go through the tl. Im only 27, I want more children now. I have dreams all the time, same kind, I have the reversal and im pg, I either have the baby or im getting ready to and I wake up and there is nothing there. It hurts. I get alot of crap from people I know, friends and family that say, 3 is enough, wait for grandkids. Anyway, I know this is long but I just wanted yall to know me. DH and I are working out a plan to have the money for the TR by March, we just bought a new house last month or I would do it tomorrow. I am so excited. I really want this to happen. Guest guest
Welcome to the group. I had my reversal in July. I had the triple burn tubal ligation and before the surgery, Dr. Levin would only give me a 5 to 20% chance of a successful reversal because they had cut out at least 3.5cm and then burned what was left. Well, he is a miracle worker because I have 5cm and 4cm left after he fixed it, but better than that, he was able to fit the pieces back together so well I now have an 85% success rate!! Don't give up on your dreams. The money will get here faster than you think. It took my about a year and a half before I was able to have mine. I wish you luck and am very happy to have you join our group of sisters! Guest guest
Sue there is no one here in Chi town doing FUS that I know if you want myo info post and some of us can give you ideas also there was a post recently for embo Warning the Doctor who messed up my first myo is practicing in the Chicago area and you may want to avoid him(Dr Caruso)your choice. If you want a super surgeon the guy who fixed the mess is Dr Zinaman out of Loyola. Their was a guy out of UofChicago that I looked at but he did not do as many myos as Doc Zineman so I didn't chose him. e --- k3brc@... wrote: > Hi everyone, > > I am Sue in Chicago, have an 16 mo sized uterus, > sub-mucosal fibroids. > Asymptomatic except for pressure and a growing > stomach!!!!Yikes. Guest guest
Hi Becky, I have two answers to your numerous questions: I don't know the statistics of how many, but there should be only two reasons for a myo to turn into a hyst: 1) the surgeon is incompetent. 2) The surgeon is competent but as he started the operation, found out that the uterus is cancerous and has confirmation by the pathologist. You may want to tell your doctor that under no circumstances would you want a hyst. and that you want to discuss whatever he finds when you are awake. As for walking normally at reasonable pace and for long periods, I could do so after three weeks. Different people heal differently, but I would not advice that you want to return to your work sooner than three weeks. Jackie
Guest guest
Becky, Five years ago I knew I had 4-6 small to mid size fibroids but chose to hold off on surgery--I was a single woman afraid to go through this alone. My myomectomy was 14 days ago and it was the best decision I ever made. The outcome was 18 fibroids, one the size of a magazine. In all my doctor said I was living with these fibroids for almost 15 years. The physical changes were immediate--I no longer have an extended abdomen and feel so much better inside, (I lost 10 pounds post-surgery). As for walking, getting around, I am entering my 3rd week and can walk, sit and lie down on my own but recommend you take it slow as a full recovery is generally at the 6 week mark. The second week was the hardest as I went crazy with boredom. It is critical you rest, do some walking and allow your body to heal. I am 41, married with no children. I was also worried that my uterus wouldn't survive the myo as 90% of it was covered with fibroids. Fortunately my doctor was able to remove all the fibroids and maintain a healthy uterus and I have the pictures to prove it! Due to my age and a test showing I had a low amount of eggs, it will be a challenge to get pregnant but I am prepared for it. I see my doctor next month to discuss these next steps. Becky, you are doing the right thing. Get informed and keep a positive attitude. The surgery is hard, the first 2 weeks are very difficult but well worth it, TRUST ME. Best of luck to you. I will keep you in my prayers. Sally > Good morning ladies. > > This is my first post, but I have been reading since I > was diagnosed with fibroids. I will sum my story up > quickly. Guest guest
My Doctor gave one more excuse for a hysterectomy. He said he had one surgery about eight years ago that turned into a hysterectomy because they was no uterus left. One out of thousands of surgeries. Still I feel for that one
Guest guest
Hi Becky. Your situation sounds a lot like mine. I have an 8 cm., 6 cm. & several smaller fibroids. I feel like mine have been growing rather rapidly within the last month or so. I hope you have found a good dr. that will preserve your fertility. I also am 28 & have no children but desperately want them. I'm waiting to hear if this specialist I'm being referred to accepts my ins. BTW, I've never been on the pill for fear that it would cause me fertility probs. Go figure, look at me now. Well, good luck & I hope all goes well for you. Guest guest
Hi, while I wouldn't call invasive surgery an easy fix, I will say that I'm happy to have had my myo and the recovery wasn't that bad as long as you know what to expect. I just didn't lift heavy stuff for a while and did need a daily nap arounf 4pm for maybe a month but I was a bit out of shape pre surgery. I walked funny at first and needed to roll out of bed for a couple of weeks. I'm not going the ufe route even if my fibroids come back...would still choose a myomectomy. I think I like your doctor:) Best wishes, JanG > I have been reading this list for awhile nowand trying to I consider my > options. I have one 10 cm fibroid, one 7 cm and a bunch of smaller ones. Guest guest
Hi Jackie Do you think " underdeveloped " means the same thing as " rudimentary? " A unicornuate uterus is a bit like an underdeveloped uterus (only half) isn't it? It kind of looks like a bannana in the pictures. I have a unicornuate uterus (half) with an " underdeveloped " second half (rudimentary horn) firmly attached. It looks normal on the outside but is smaller and underdeveloped because one side is rudimentary. Can you describe your uterus and maybe some of the girls can help? Guest guest
Jackie, I have a UU (unicornuate uterus) which I believe someone else already explained to you. A septate (septum) uterus is when the two halves of a normal uterus are divided by a wall of tissue but the outside of the uterus looks normal. I haven't heard of an underdeveloped uterus, which only means I haven't heard of it. Are you sure there's no more accurate description for your condition? My guess is, including what the radiologist wrote, that you probably have a UU. My suggestion to you is contact yr doctor and request a better explanation from him/her on yr condition. If they cannot give you one request a referral to a specialist in yr area and have them send over any test reports and pictures that have been done. As for possible changes in the past 12 yrs, unfortunately, I think it's unlikely that the shape/condition of your reproductive anatomy has changed. But, medical treatments have so do not give up hope!! let us know!! amanda uu/26 27wks tomorrow jqe76 jqe76@...> wrote: Hello. I just found this group the other day and was wondering if anyone can give me any information. It seems like everyone here has a septum or unicornate uterus. I have been trying to search for possibilities for surgery or ways to have a pregancy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
