Guest guest
Try taking some probiotics and aloe vera juice. This helped my mom tremendously. Guest guest
What probiotics do you take. There is a real good one by solaray that has over 25 billion organisms. I would try that one... Guest guest
Then should I raise HC on the days of the diarhea? Gosh that would be many days in a row most times. This week my temps were stable at 98.6 and hardly had any hypo symptoms....hairloss has slowed down a lot, sleep is somewhat better and then wham,,,,,diarhea! Hate to up the HC when all the other stuff is going well. I seem to be getting this when I eat any meal with fat lately, Years ago it was dairy....then when I had too much fiber in one meal....now it seems to be animal fat. Don't know what to eat anymore! Guest guest
Magnesium will certainly cause the runs for me. But then nearly everything does--I've had IBS-D for over 30 years. But some other things to check: some supplements can cause this, including vit C in doses higher than personal bowel tolerance sugar and carbs fruit sugar alcohols (maltitol, xylitol, sorbitol, etc) *hyperthyroid* (I have had this problem so long off and on that I didn't recognize a sudden increase in severity and frequency as one indicator I had gone hyper). I also believe from one of my symptom lists that chronic diarrhea can be low cortisol. My experience is it is good to take salt, because you lose a lot of fluid and minerals with the runs. sol nafoel wrote: > Is this adrenal or thryoid related or neither? > > Does anyone know where this could be coming from and how to fix it? > I'm taking magnesium and decided to hold off for a few days. >
Guest guest
Thank you Sol. I did remember that too much magnesium could cause this so I eliminated it for a few days. But I have been on high doses before without problems. I eat A LOT of fruit and usually don't have any issues...papaya/bananas/oranges/plums....only mangoes cause issues (very high fiber) and they are my favorite!!! Of course! I ran out of my Vit C this week so it's not that either. I'm guessing low cortisol. But I'm at 25 mg and feeling really well otherwise. I've had this on and off all my life. Most of my friends complain about constipation but that's one hypo symptom I've never had. My last colonoscopy my doc said everything 'was fine' and no diverticula or polyps or anything....so don't know. I'm going to raise HC I guess. That and look into all of this candida talk I've read on other forums ....to be honest, I just haven't had the energy to check out new diseases I might have! LOL Naffy > > Is this adrenal or thryoid related or neither? > > > > Does anyone know where this could be coming from and how to fix it? > > I'm taking magnesium and decided to hold off for a few days. > > >
Guest guest
" nafoel " wrote: > Most of my friends complain > about constipation but that's one hypo symptom I've never had. Chronic diarrhea is also a hyper symptom. When I was hyper, I'd have to go about 2-3 hours after each meal, and it was literally poop soup. If you're not hyper, it should be hours before a true bowel movement. Lactose intolerance caused more " explosive " bowel movements, and it was only temporary, meaning for a period after ingesting dairy. But the hyper diarrhea was chronic. Now this will be contrary to what Val says, but I'm starting to believe that just as Broda's acceptable basal is 98.0 +- .2, meaning 97.8-98.2, that optimal daily average is 98.6 +- .2, meaning 98.4-98.8, and you might be one of those better at 98.4. And I might be a 98.8 person. Course, Broda also say hypos tend to have post-nasal drips which artificially elevate their oral temperatures, so that might explain my case too. Don't know, these are just theories I come up with to help me figure out where optimum is for me. Barb
Guest guest
You know Barb that's really interesting. I sometimes, not always, but sometimes will feel a little hyper at 98.6, but I always talk myself into thinking I'm better, because I have more energy. Just today, I was on the phone with my daughter, and she said " mom, have you gone hyper, you're talking non stop " . LOL Maybe cutting the Cytomel by a tiny smidgeon will help this. Am going to try tomorrow....thanks...I think this thinking 'outside the box' is very helpful. We're all so different. Guest guest
In my family, when we have diarrhea, we take 2 refrigerated type probiotics after every loose bowel movement until it's cleared up, then back to a regular schedule of 2 a day. You might want to make sure and take plenty of fiber to firm up the stools as well. I used to have IBS issues, but once I did a serious course of digestive enzymes and probiotics, (about a year with 2 enzymes on an empty stomach upon awakening, 2 with each meal and snack, and 2 on an empty stomach at bedtime, along with 2 probiotics twice daily) along with eating properly and plenty of vegetables, mine finally regulated itself and I no longer have to be stringent about the supplements. I only take NSP's Food Enzymes when I eat a meal that I know is hard to digest for me, like beef, or ice-cream, or if I'm having a particularly heavy meal, or eating at a restaurant and there are probably processed foods and food additives included. I do the probiotics now just when I'm feeling off....(but I eat a small probiotic-added cottage cheese every day for breakfast) we treat our colds and viruses with them in larges doses, too, 6 or 7 at a time, 2 or 3 times daily will usually knock out whatever bug is trying to invade our systems.... Guest guest
As a remedy to the diarhea, no. But I do cook with it. Olive oil for salads. Animal fat seems to hit me harder. naffy > > > Have you tried coconut oil? > > Lynn > > > > I seem to be getting this when I eat any meal with fat lately, Years > > ago it was dairy....then when I had too much fiber in one > > meal....now it seems to be animal fat. Guest guest
Thanks Terri...that was helpful. I've realized I am way underdosed! I was only taking 2 probiotics a day and 2 dig. enzymes a day.
