Guest guest
Your symptoms sound like poorly functioning Adrenals(excess hair, GI), and less low thyroid. Low adrenal function will effect your thyroid hormone utilization, but I would start with Adrenal supports, and lay off the Armour for now. Marla > > Hi all, > I am new to this group and have a few questions I am hoping some of you can answer for me. I started taking Armour, 30mg twice daily, 10 days ago. I was hopeful I would finally start to feel better but I actually feel much worse. I have been taking an OTC adrenal supplement, Adrenal Stress End, since the end of January. Since starting the Armour, I am feeling much more fatigued and very depressed. I am on the verge of tears or crying all day long. Initially when I joined the group (last night), I was going to post and ask how long I should expect to wait before feeling better. But when reading the FAQs from the moderator, I read that Dr. Broda recommends giving a dose of Prednisone when starting Armour if the patient's blood pressure is too low in order to avoid having the patient get worse. I wonder if that isn't my problem. A normal bp for me is 88 over 58 up to 92 over 62. So I guess my questions are: > > Should I contact my doctor and ask for a prednisone boost? > Should I discontinue the Armour until my adrenals rebound? > Is there a better adrenal supplement I can take that will work better? > A major obstacle for me right now (aside from my health) is that my bloodwork always falls into " normal ranges " even though I have 90% of the symptoms of hypothryoidism, so most doctors refuse to treat me. Luckily my sports med doc, who used to be a family practitioner, agreed to write me a prescription for Armour based on my symptoms and the feedback from the nutritionist she referred me to. I am just shy of 39 years old and am accustomed to irregular cycles, stubborn and pervasive acne, severe allergies, GI issues, Reynaud's syndrome, excessive body hair, etc. and I have dealt with those my entire life. The things I can't deal with are the extreme fatigue, poor memory (forgot to pick kids up at school one day, for example), and depression. I refuse to believe that none of my symptoms are related and that an antidepressant will solve my problems. The nutritionist continues to call my situation " sub- clinical hypothyroidism " but the medical community > doesn't seem to be on board. > > I would appreciate any advice anyone cares to offer. Guest guest
Have you ever tested for polycystic ovarian syndrome/disease? It causes irregular periods, acne and excessive body hair. The dhea-s is usually very high. > > > > Hi all, > > I am new to this group and have a few questions I am hoping some > of you can answer for me. Guest guest
Hi Val, I am finally coming up for air this week and want to order the saliva test. If I am going through the testing, I would prefer to test all levels of adrenals, hormones, and thyroid - is there a test that is that comprehensive? If not, exactly which one would you suggest I start with? Thanks in advance, Re: New to group - many questions I urge you to have the saliva cortisol tetsing done. Guest guest
Thank you. I found it and am ordering it. I am unsure of when to use it, though, as my cycle is very abnormal and I don't really know when days 19-21 are. Will it skew my results very much? Hi, I have similar issues (I had to wait 4 months to do the test after getting the kit). When I got to day 19 I was pretty sure that I was about to ovulate. I contacted the Canary Club & they told me that the ideal sample is about halfway between ovulation & period. So I waited 7 days before taking the sample, my estimate of ovulation was correct - but the post office mucked up the delivery, so I have another test kit and am waiting again. I would suggest emailing Canary Club if you want to be sure. Cheers Jewel
Guest guest
You want to do the test 5-7 days after you ovulate. Your cervical mucus will get very slimy and snotty when you're ovulating. Your morning basal temperature will also drop to its lowest of the month. Do the test 5-7 days after that time to get the best measure of your estrogen and progesterone. If you tend to have a 6 week cycle, you usually ovulate around the 4th week, but the cervical mucus and basal temp are your best indicators. Barb " lindsaybill " wrote: > > Thank you.
