In fact it's a huge problem for me. In terms of the dehydration, I feel like it's the result of an electrolyte imbalance of sorts. It's not so much that I'm always thirsty, I just get these headaches and feel really beat in the mornings. My urine is also very dark in color. Drinking water with sea salt seems to help though... Guest guest
I have experienced the very same thing. I get super dehydrated at night, I have to keep water by my bed. I started out at .1mg of Florinef, then thought I must need more because of the dehydration so I upped it another .5. That didn't help, so I went back to .1 for awhile. Then I started getting horrid headaches and waking up with swollen fingers. So I went down to .5. It seems to help with the dehydration, but I'm still getting headaches. I'm very frustrated myself~I hope both of us can get the answers we need. I think too much Florinef might cause trouble as well as too little! BTW I tested my glucose several times and my numbers are normal. Kim > > > > It COULD be related to high glucose. Guest guest
Terri, have you read Broda ' Hypothyroidism: the Unsuspected Illness? I just finished the chapter on heart attacks and he says that hypo causes high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and atherosclerosis. He still gives heart attack patients thyroid and they improve, he just starts them on a small dose and raises slowly. And of course, you'll need adrenal support. Don't let any test results deter you from taking thyroid, if you're hypo and need it. Because NOT treating your hypo will only make any heart condition worse, not better. Guest guest
This just sounds all too familiar. Of the 20 something docs I have been to in the past 20 years, I never got anything reasonable from them. Think they are trying to make us sick? so they can prescribe the meds and please the drug companies? At the very least they don't seem to care any more whether we are sick or not. I can remember when docs really cared! I hope your stress test and ekg are fine! Good luck. Guest guest
OK, this is a bit of a rant, BUT as I learn more and more about functional medicine and start to help people who have nowhere to go and have been told they are just getting olk or some other ridicculous excuse, I get pretty disgusted with my profession.? The problem with this country is that everything is run by money, to the extent that since so many studies are funded by drug companies that is all that is taught and all that we are exposed to unless we dig and fo out looking for other stuff. In addition, millions of dollars are spent on cat scans and other expensive tests without looking at the basics AND the patient for fear of getting sued (and trust me, it is HELL).? If I complain, I will probably lose my license for being a quack, but all of you guys need to scream loadly to Washington.? Universal Healthcare will just be lots of worthless tests and xrays for everyone and the stuff that so many people need will continue to be ignored.? The system needs a radical overhaul! Guest guest
Terri you are wise to not take his BP andcholesterol meds. Thyroid will correct both. While I never had chest pain I did have Congestive Heart Failure which caused an unbelievable shortness of breath and weakness! During that I was given Atenolol for my 245/148 BP and it almost killed me. It pushed me into Myexedma Coma. All while on 500mcg Synthroid. Back then my cholesterol was 640... I was told my thyroid was normal... That's what listening to a butthead like that did for me, and OH I had tht trust your doctor ground into me. You have no idea what a leap of faith it took for me ot start sea salt in that condition! But that and going straight to 3 grains of Armoru is what pulled me out of it. T3 protects the heart and that I will swear to this day. I lived with palps and pounding heart for quite a few years after that and now it is pretty much gone, just a remaining shortness of breath when I get too fat as I am now! but nothing like I had. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/

Starting wiht the FDA and Insurance companies thta have driven this then right on through the pharmaceuticl companies they all need to be dismantled and started over wiht people that have been ill running them! In the last 2 uears I have lost two friends.. One to CHF and they swore his thyroid wa normal.. sound familiar? I saw his labs.. almost NO T3 when I begged and begged for hiim to have testing. Another to Septic Shock.. Se had such bad adrenals I knew she was going to collapse soon. She had NO signs of infection on autopsy. But died in a hospital of SHOCK. No one there suggested giving her steroids. If I knwo two people in my small group of friends.. how many others are dying needlessly every day from bad medical care? My mother and her father both were suicides. Mom at 35 her Dad at 40. Guest guest
Doctors used to diagnose by symptoms and actually look at their patient. Now all they do is diagnose by the ink on the lab report. I thought it was " first do no harm " . Well I have lost 20 years of my life because of irresponsible medical care. Guest guest
hi NTH group suggested i join cuz of my uncommon adrenal tests results. i have tested as High cortisol (on saliva tests) and FInally just tested my aldosterone and renin and both aldosterone and renin were high! (but not so high that my dr was concerned adrenal fatigue (but DR doesn't believe in that i have swelling, especially when i add Sea salt. (more than 1/4 tsp per day) i also have swelling around ankles and calves ofcourse but also wrists/hands, and eyes --that comes and goes during each day... and have been super thirsty! ? have any of you tested your ALdosterone and renin before going on meds? what were yours like? ?is there anyone here who has " rehydrated " themselves naturally?? ie the right combo of water/na/k?? thanks -Carol PS, my bad thirst symptoms and also my electric/tingly (cushings symptom) muscle/headache symptoms went away last year.. the Calm PRT helped a lot with the tingling/fizzy feeling. > > I have experienced the very same thing. Guest guest
One of the best ways to help early adrenal fatigue with high cortils is to raise the thyroid levels. TYhis takes the strain off the adrenals an should help lower them. Phosphatidyl Serine is helpful as well as Zinc. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Darla, 20 years, what a waste! I am so happy I have found these groups too, but just found them in December I think. So have a lot to work on and a lot to learn. I am picking up all the bits of information I can. Thanks to all of you here. The internet is truly a wonderful place where we can all share. It's tough going it alone, which I did for so many years. Really appreciate this group. Thank you Val. But you have to admit, getting praise for all you know from an MD is pretty MAJOR satisfaction, no? I hope you're smiling like one of your cheshire's right now!
