Isn't reducing HC by 2.5 mg every 3 days too fast? I'm not at the stage

of weaning yet, but I thought weanind down was supposed to be slower, as

the adrenals adjust only slowly.

If it was me, I would sure not be increasing thyroid while adrenals are

struggling and I was feeling bad.

just my two cents,

I would go back up on the HC to 32.5 or even 35mg. NOT a good time to

even think about raisig thyroid! When adrenals are the least bit

stressed yoiu can;t add more to them wihtout a BIG setback.

Yes it is too fast except when you are having HIGH cortils sympotms then it is

important to lower to a physiological dose quickly.

Hi Val,

Okay, I hear you about the armour!

What do you think about raising florinef, as that is really where I

think I need to go, as that seems to be the biggest factor in my

recovery--I've been at .1 mg for 2 weeks.

Hi sol,

yes, you are right, I am going fast, but I had a water retention

issue which was worrying me, so Val suggested the faster pace. I did

okay at first, lowering from very high doses due to bronchitis, but

I'm definitely stalled out now. And I guess now is not the time to

increase armour. Oh well :) I appreciate your in-put.

Okay. If I'm dosing 32.5, I would do 10, 10, 7.5, & 5. But what about

35 w/o suppressing ACTH?

Thanks Val,

How does that affect people who have gone too high with HC, and can't

seem to wean down?

When people get their HC dose too high and stay on it for a while, the body

opens up new cortils receptors and it expects them filled. Whether there is

enough in the REAL receptors or not, so then you can get horrid low cortils

symptoms along with the high cortiosl symptoms . It is not a good place to be.
