Guest guest
Umm..well yes, but your adrenals would have to stop working altogether. Can you get your hands on some adrenal cortex from the health food store? If not how about licorice capsules..or over the counter hydrocortisone cream?? (the kind for itching skin) If you can get the cream..start slathering..it will calm you down a bit. I think we have all been here before. Sometimes you can help the symptoms with the things I suggested above while you work on getting a saliva test done. > > Is it possible to die from adrenals being so low? Guest guest
Hi Jada, thank you for your quick reply. I do have sublingual adrenal cortex extract, as well as capsule form. Licorice didn't agree with me, so I avoid it whenever possible. I just feel so off... I'll try taking some more of the ACE and maybe some Rescue Remedy drops. I do have a saliva test here, ready to be taken... I just do not want to go off the pregnenolone and DHEA and have things get really worse. I've been super exhausted before, and have been in stage 7 at least 3-4 times before, but this feels different. I'm wondering if the more one goes into stage 7, does it get worse each time? > > > > Is it possible to die from adrenals being so low? I've never felt as > > bad as I do now... Guest guest
There is danger of adrenal crissi from low cortisoll Symptoms to be very aware of are throwing up and shaking with temps and BP dropping. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
We have found rescue remedy very helpful in stress moments or when it seems the adrenals are not handling things well. So go ahead and use that as needed. It is only flower extracts so not harmful. As for the adrenal cortex, that would help symptoms but you do have to be off of it for two weeks to do the testing.. Sometimes I have to increase the adrenal cortex if I am having an especially hard time..sick or stressed..etc. Often times people have to go up to 4-6 caps a day of the cortex. I am not sure what stage I am..my dd is in stage 7. She is currently on two caps in the am and one at 3pm. At times we have had her on 3 in the am and 2 at 3pm. So it depends on how bad it gets. I am inclined to think that the symptoms do get worse. > > > > > > Is it possible to die from adrenals being so low? I've never > felt as > > > bad as I do now... Guest guest
Hoo boy... my son has been sick, so if I get a temp now, I'll be wondering if... but I'll try not to worry so much. Last night, I got about 3 hours of sleep, so I think I am just burnt out/wired/exhausted. It's just about bed time, so I'll bulk up on my ACE and the Rescue Sleep, and get as much rest as I possibly can. Lately, it seems like every other day is an " off " day for me. Yesterday was OK, so today must be the off. Thanks for the info-- I will be aware. Guest guest
Donna, I have not felt that bad, but I remember someone posted to one of the boards (Grave Disease) a couple of years ago they had a similar feeling - like they were dying - and it turned out they had an adrenal crisis and had to be hospitalized. I did not recognize what was wrong at the time, but I have never forgotten the words she used - similar to what you said. I don't want to alarm you, but if you feel you need to call someone, you should do that. If you get any of the symptoms Val mentioned - throwing up, shakiness, chills or like you are going to pass out, you need to go to the hospital. AND, do you have any sea salt?? If so, drink two large glasses of warm water each with teaspoon of sea salt right away. Take care - Cathy > > Is it possible to die from adrenals being so low? I've never felt as > bad as I do now... Guest guest
Hi, I have felt like that, and when I did, I went to the emergency at the hospital! Feelings can be very deceiving as to what is high blood pressure, what's low thyroid, etc. etc., so it's hard to self-treat in those panic times. Don't take a chance, go to the hospital!! At least they can do some blood tests and watch you. Have you thought about trying to do a phone consult with someone? I have made a phone appointment with Dr. Rind, the adrenal specialist in Washington, for Tuesday. The staff were really nice to me. If you email me, I'll let you know how it goes. Bless you, Kathy L. > > Is it possible to die from adrenals being so low? I've never felt as > bad as I do now... I just have the feeling that I won't survive this, > somehow. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, thanks for replying. I do take sea salt in my water everyday... I think part of the problem was that I hadn't slept the night before, and the only thing I'd really eaten yesterday was some cream of rice for breakfast. I called my mom last night, and she came over and cleaned my kitchen, lving room, and she and my son made me something nutritious to eat. I also had some almond butter and a rice cake before I went to sleep, so I slept *better* than I'd slept the previous night. I've done phone consults with Dr Neville at Clymer (since 2001), but I haven't spoken with him in quite a while. I had been thinking about checking myself into the " Sanctuary " at Clymer in April, and have spoken this week with Christa (the receptionist) about doing that. Since they only do 100% natural therapies/remedies there, and the adrenals take SO long to heal using ONLY those modalities-- it's just not feasible for me. Plus, there's no one (no one appropriate) to take my son if I was there for an extended period of time; and I just cannot spend months on end there. Right now, I need to do something more immediate, which is where my CFS MD (Jeanne Hubbuch of Newton, MA) would come in. I've heard good things about HC treatment for AF, and that is the one thing I haven't tried. > > Hi, I have felt like that, and when I did, I went to the emergency at > the hospital! Guest guest
hi Kathy, I would love to hear how your appointment with Dr. Rind goes. I live in the UK but grew up in DC very close to Dr. Rind's practice. He is someone I am considering seeing next time I visit my parents (prob. May or June). Good luck with your appointment tomorrow - I hope it goes well. (in UK) > > Have you thought about trying to do a phone consult with someone?
