Guest guest
, Peyton does this holding his pee thing sometimes too. He only does it in spurts, not all the time. Come to think of it, he's not been doing it for a while. He'll wake up w/ a dry diaper(he gets 4 cans- 8 oz each throughout the nite) and wait unitl late in the am to " go " . Sometimes we'll even start giviing him his daily routine of bolus' before he'll go.So he'll have the 32 oz. of overnite feeds plus a few more ounces before he goes-can you imagine? They've noticed this before when they've done tests on his kidney. They just said they'd have to watch it because it could cause problems. None so far though. So no answers for you, just to say that yes, we have that issue too. Corrie > > ok experts a rather personal ? here for the boys. Guest guest
, Patty did much of the same. I'm guessing it is that sensation thing. Hers used to be worse. She'd wake in the am and not have to go till hours later. Then she'd only go twice a day. Finally we made rules for her. She had to go in the am, after she got home from school and then before bed. It actually was a doctor who helped enforce that rule. She finally did fine. It was all about routines. Patty also could not tell when she had an infection. If I thought she had one we took her in. There were a few times they spun it at the office and said she didn't have an infection only to call a few days later to say when they sent it out they found one. I'm hoping it's nothing more than a passing fluke. Yea for the bus situation. You must feel much calmer sending Tim on that bus now. As for the paying attention thing, Patty was diagnosed with ADD (Not ADHD) when she was in high school. I think there were many reasons she had difficulty paying attention. Yes it was the ADD but it also was her fatigue, her not knowing all that was going on around her and her inner voice just wasn't telling her to calm. We put it in her IEP that she was allowed to take a break if needed. She'd just take a walk and come back to class within a few minutes. She was better to attend after. Some thought she was just trying to get out of work, which was sometimes true, but most understood how difficult it was for her and a break was beneficial. I do have to add that Patty does take meds. It helps regulate her in a way she needs, i.e. lessens her tics and anxiety. With that she's better able to pay attention. Also Patty did much better when she learned how to use a computer. Yes she grew leaps and bounds with it. I would say learning the computer and various programs closed that gap tons! Technology is what all our children need regardless of their disabilities. You would be surprised to find what is truly out there. Yea for your district. Middle school! Good luck mom!! Guest guest
, too will go a long time in between pees. We always joke that he has a bladder the size of Rhode Island. His bowel movements have always been really large. I mean clog the toilet large. I nicknamed him Godzilla boy. He is on miralax to keep his movements a little on the loose side. I always blamed it on his stomach surgeries and the doctors haven't said other wize. mom to 31 > > > > ok experts a rather personal ? here for the boys.
