Guest guest
I would opt to get all the testing oyu possibly can including the ACTH serum and Stim tests. You DO need to knwo if this is pituitary or adrenal. Especilly in a child. As pituitary funtion is unlikely to go away EVER adn adrenal problaems there is hope fo rhealing. She will ned to be off the glandulars for at least 2 weks prior to testing though. I would loik fo rintegrative or homeoipathic type doctors. DO's might be good too but question heavily before making an appointment. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
Guest guest
Thank you. We got the Integrative Ped..expensive, and not sure if it's going to help. I will know when she gets back to about what she thinks should be done. uggh. Oh getting her off the cortex ought to be fun. > > I would opt to get all the testing oyu possibly can including the ACTH > serum and Stim tests. Guest guest
My 12 year old son is in the same situation - I posted his labs on the natural thyroid hormones group about a month ago. I am treating him without the support of a doctor and seeing some good results; there are others doing this on this group, the iodine group and the natural thyroid hormones group. We didn't do the ACTH stim test because we have a long line of thyroid issues in my family accompanied with adrenal fatigue, and we all have positive antibodies. I did have him take the 24 hour adrenal saliva test and he has Stage 4 adrenal fatigue. I would suggest having a full antibody panel done first, looking for TRab, blocking, stimulating and binding as well as TSI to find out whether the hypo issue is caused by antibodies or not, plus antibody tests for s. (ACA or 21-OH antibodies) If you rule out autoimmune causes, then you could explore pituitary causes? Cathy > > I have a 12 yr old whoe saliva test was bad. It indicates stage 7 > fatigue. Guest guest
Her saliva thyroid antibodies were negative..does this mean we would not need the blood antibodies... I think I would still want adrenal antibodies run since her stage is pretty bad for being 12. Both my parents are Hashi's. I don't know about myself because my doc will only run TSH on me..but I am meeting with a new doc soon. I know from symptoms that I am hypoadrenal and hypothyroid..just not sure if autoimmune or not. > > > > I have a 12 yr old whoe saliva test was bad. It indicates stage 7 > > fatigue. Guest guest
Adrenal antivbosies are rare, btu yes thyroid antibodies are more accurate in blood testing. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/
