I would push for some ACTH serum and ACTh stim testing. Thsi could easily be a pituitary problem. I would also test Aldosterone wiht levels this low. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > Val--just wondering why is it helpful to know if adrenal fatigue is a pituitary problem. Isn't the treatment the same? Tasia
Guest guest
Val, Would this be the same for a male? What kinds of things should a male w/ type 2 diabetes condiser before starting HC? What extra Labs? > > >>Val--just wondering why is it helpful to know if adrenal fatigue is a > pituitary problem. If for exampole, progesterone and estrogen are veyr low as well, you will nhave a hard time utilizing the cortils, thyroid and DHEA will alos be low. Estrogen lowers insukin resistance so taking HC beofre gettign SOME estrogen in you could cause risk of Diabetes. You may feel hypo and it actualy be low estrogen or low testosterone, makes running by symptoms MUCH more difficult so basically it mans tetsing and adjusting more hormones. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >
Guest guest
[Val] " HC actually lowers my glucose! Cnanot figure out why except possibly due to it helping the thyroid work better. " Val, I keep learning the most fortuitous things on this forum. Sheesh! Yesterday, I upped my morning Isocort to 3 pellets, and just before dinner had a horrendous blood sugar crash. Do you think I should try increasing adrenal & thyroid support simultaneously? I've been trying a.m. Isocort in addition to my Standard Process desiccated adrenal. So far no effect from the Isocort (except possibly yesterday's hypoglycemia), but the SP adrenal usually raises my low energy. I'm real puzzled about this. I do have symptoms of low aldosterone, and I'm wondering if the desiccated adrenal is perhaps providing something to boost aldosterone. Is it possible my fatigue is due to low aldosterone, and not low cortisol?
