Ok,,,,my DOCTOR was NO HELP. I asked him what the relationship,

read BALANCE, between my estrogen and progesterone labs should be.

One is in pg and the other in ng, and I have no clue. NOR DID HE.

He just said , it's okay, keep taking both.

FYI I'm wayyyy post meno and have only taken the progest cream. He

didn't even give me the ranges. I have the estr. cream, but don't

know if I should be taking it.

Anyone make sense of this please?

Est. 18.020 pg/mL

Prog. 1.60 ng/mL

asked for free test and he didn't do it.

Is ng 1000 times greater than pg? Would my progest be 160?

Anyone who doesn't have hypo brain fog right now,....feel free to

answer! and THANK YOU!

Thanks Val...I had gotten that far on googling it as well...but

guess I just wanted someone to do the math for me LOL

if one ng equals 1000 pg....then my progesterone is in the

thousands?? (it was 1.60 ng)

What I'm trying to figure out is if I should be taking estrogen with

these labs. I know progesterone is supposed to be x times higher

than estrogen....but I don't know the exact number.

Here they are again since I know you don't save the posts you've

answered.

Estrogen 18.020 pg/mL

Progest. 1.60 ng/mL

ftest. was not done, by error but its always been borderline low.

I've dumped DHEA due to massive hairloss.

Meno was 12 yrs. ago and don't have sweats or other symptoms.

Mostly dryness, but can live with it. Sooo the doubt about

beginning esto NOW....12 YRS. LATER.

Just need to know if I should start up on estrogen...or leave it all

alone. And also to know how many times GREATER the progest. should

be related to the estrogen. In the same units of measurements of

course.

Val thank you and thank you to anybody else who can figure this

out. I'm very brain dead lately and just don't have it in me today

to research this anymore...I'm stuck.

Called the lab and got the ranges:

Estradiol 18.020 pg/ml (post meno: 5.37-65.9)

Progesterone: 1.60 ng/ml (post meno: 0.15-1.04)

No free test. done. But always borderline low.

Thanks Val!

different from one lab to the next thus their ranges can vary. I

would ask for a copy of these labs from the lab!

Ok...so I try to get my estrogen to about what number, so that the

ratio of progesterone to it is balanced. This is where I'm having

difficulty. It says everywhere that progesterone should be a

certain RATIO to estrogen.

If I keep using the progest. cream I guess I can keep my lab numbers

at 1.60....but where do I want to be with the estrogen in RELATION

TO THAT.

Does that question make sense?? You know like copper/zinc and

magnesium/potassium. One has to be in RATIO to the other.

So...question is. With this progesterone AS IS....WHAT NUMBER

estrogen should I be aiming for.

I swear, this is wearing me out. I called my dr. AGAIN he couldn't

answer me.

Does anyone know?

Naffy

ps. and sorry to bother you with this Val...I know you've said many

times that this isn't your area. Could you direct me to a forum

about this? thanx again.

is fine. No one seems to worry when progesterone is high as it does

nto have the same side effects or problems associated wiht it as

high estrogen, btu I try to shoot for the high end of lab ranges

with most hormones.

But Val....when I did the original testing months ago ALL MY

HORMONES were low...but the only one I supplemented with was

progesterone. It came up quite quickly.

I think I could hold back on the progesterone dosing for a while, so

as to not go higher and start the biest cream??

Then test again in about a month to see where I am.

I still am confused as to my progesterone reading in ng's.

Do you refer to a hormone site or forum for your information? Is

there a forum for this that might have files or stickies with all of

this info? I've looked but havent' found anything.

Thank you,

Naffy
