How big is the nodule? Is it causing you some problems?

fine needle aspiration. They insert a needle into the nodules and draw out a

sample to test for cancer.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy

enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright

Last June it measured 9 x 1.13 cm. I also have multiple bilateral lobe

complex cysts on both sides of the thyroid. It increased between October

2006 and June 2007. I'm scheduled to go back in Tuesday for another

ultrasound and have another appt. with a different doctor that is a surgeon

who deals with thyroid. The nurse at my primaries office said she used to

work for him and he was very good (I know). I asked her if he actually

treated thyroid and if he went by anything besides TSH. She said yes he does

that he specializes in thyroid and parathyroid. That appr. is in April. So I

guess I'lll see....

Cherie, I noticed a swelling on the right side of my thyroid when I was in

my early 20's. A few years later as I was going from doctor to doctor for

what I know now were thyroid/adrenal problems, an ear, nose and throat

doctor ordered a scan and told me it was a cold nodule, which meant it

wasn't causing problems. Over the years, about 6 doctors wanted to remove

it, even called me up and talked down to me because I didn't want to have my

thyroid removed.

Last summer, when my family practitioner sent me to an endo, they were all

primmed to do a biopsy but did an ultrasound and could find no nodule. The

lump was a calcified lymph node. Go figure. I have no confidence in the

medical profession, but am really thankful to the Holy Spirit which wouldn't

let them cut on me. I've lived all these years under a dark cloud of never

being quite optimal, but never trusting the people who are supposed to know

how to treat this disorder.

You're probably wondering what this has to do with your situation. I guess

I'm trying to say just be very careful and I pray for the best outcome for

you.
