Guest guest
Tonya, My daughter (non CHARGE) has non functioning eutachion tubes in both ears.. she has had PE tubes since she was 1yo, she's now 28. There was talk about doing a dialation but they said that the probability of scar tissue and the like would likely close them back up so we never did it. She has done fine. She's on her 14th set of PE tubes and is so used to it now when they fall out she just has them replaced in the docs office. Guest guest
Aubrie had malformed - especially curved - and narrow eustacian tubes as a baby. The dr also thought she was likely to need PE tubes forever. But the last set fell out a few years ago and she hasn't needed them replaced. If your daughter needs PE tubes for a long time, it's not too big a deal, really. However, I think it's possible that the dr is wrong, her eustacian tube will grow, and she may outgrow the need for PE tubes. Our kids defy the odds all the time. The typical rules definitely don't apply to CHARGE. Michele W Aubrie's mom 9 yrs
